Most of parents of current generation are not aware about freelancing job, 2. 2nd thing if boy is not mentioning about family or telling that his family disowned him so obviously it gives negative impact. 3. You told them about acting career which is most uncertain career and normal people have negative image about person from acting background and even about character and habits of industry people. 4. Even the earning you mentioned in profile give reason to doubt about genuineness of profile. 5. This was a good initiative and with a few improvements and consideration of human psychology it can give better results and understanding of human psyche (in Indian context). One of the improvements surround the freelancing job in terms of acting. Acting as a profession is great but for parents there could be a lot of biases around it. Absence of family background can arouse doubt in terms of a guy’s value and upbringing because it’s important to get married into a good family, also actors have a very different lifestyle as compared to 9-5 working class which hinders the compatibility, lastly there’s also a bias that actors don’t have a long lasting marriage due to their social set ups. I think it’s important to take an account of these points before simplifying it into what’s progressive and what’s regressive.
