I have flown RC helicopters for about 25years and in my opinion the turbine Lama is the ultimate. Many thanks for this video.

Very interesting that you actually got into ground resonance once you landed. This is a rare phenomenon with three blade rotors but when it happens on full sized helicopters the pilot needs to immediately add collective and power and get the machine up off the ground otherwise it will bounce and shake all to pieces. There are several videos on KZbin of this actually happening and it destroys the aircraft and sometimes injures the occupants. Nice job on the build and the flying!

Thank's Bob. Yesterday late afternoon I've been called from the airfield to come there with my camera. So I had the opportunity to film two flights of the Lama. This one was the first flight. The second one I'll not show on YT but it will do a DVD for the pilot and his crew. I've seen your Lama video and I remember that it was a pre maiden flight. I'm looking forward to see the Lama in action again. Best regards, Horst

never been a fan of the lama, not rc, just the lama in general but when a rc heli is this big it has to be admired no matter what its based on and i love the little details in the cockpit, that little mobile phone in its holder is cool ha ha i think the pilot in the right seat needs to lay off the drink though, at 2:22 you can clearly see he has the shakes lol

Thank you for sharing this great video of a beautiful machine! The detail is absolutely amazing. Now I must know. Why would anyone come here, look at this great video of a beautiful RC helicopter that people worked very hard on and kind enough to share, then give it a thumbs down? If you don't like it then just split but don't be a shit head to the guy sharing this with us. Great helicopter, impressive! Much love and respect from Colorado USA.

Thank you very much for your comment. Flying 3D helicopters are very difficult to capture on video. I like the scale RC models. They are easier to capture with the camera, because they are not so nervous in the air :)

Awesome video, thanks for sharing it. My question is, why were the pilots shaking so bad when you powered down? Is there an issue with the blades being out of balance? I noticed a wobble in the blades when you throttled up before you lifted off the ground. Thanks guys.
@RCScaleAirplanes9 жыл бұрын
RakinBill Thank you for your compliments, which I really appreciate. The rotor blades are balanced to 100%. As with many rotating parts detectable, can occur frequencies that cause an oscillation at certain speeds. This phenomenon you can observe on many Rc helicopters. _Best regards, RCSA_

Awesome level of detail. I don't know the real thing, but the is dedication. And I believe that 3D it a good aspect of rc, it take extreme skill to fly like that ( plane or heli). Its a fun way to fly and in planes it is like an art. 3D is defined as flying just below stall speed.
