He also has a daughter with Nat in a universe, it doesn't change that they were set up to be a couple but then Joss Whedon decided differently and pulled that irrelevant 5 min fam out of spite. Even Renner didn't like that idea and the whole character basically retired then came back nonstop. It ruined the mcu for me.
