Cool list. Wasnt expecting Storm as #1. Even Mark from LoG says it’s his least fave. But definitely some good songs on it. I’m an older fan who is been listening to their records more past wrath. All have some good songs! I was really into sacrament when I was growing up. Blacken the Cursed Sun is one of my faves. Was surprised at first when I discovered alot of fans don’t rank it to highly. But I enjoy some of the deeper cuts on it like Foot to the Throat (the chorus riff is so cool and fun to play on guitar). lol I guess I look at them as how fun they are to jam on guitar.

Am i in a minority here?? A New American Gospel is thee album. Palaces and Ashes are great but the rawness and intensity on ANAG is unmatched 👌🏽 1. ANAG 2.ashes 3.as the palaces burn(would be higher but the bleeding on sound is unique and difficult) 4.sacrament 5.strum ang drag

I agree. I used to rank it low, but listened to it again recently and was blown away. I would put it up at #3 now right behind Ashes and Palaces. All 3 are fantastic.

It's so funny because I feel the total opposite about Sacrament. I thought the singles were more simple and just to bring new fans in. Pathetic and More Time to Kill don't do anything for you? More Time to Kill has the sickest breakdown section on the whole album and probably ever. My sister doesn't like metal that much but she loves that she can understand Randy on this album and she screams along every time. Everyones fav is track 2, Again we will Rise. I think there's one or two skip tracks, it's also the first album I heard so this was my standard. Pathetic might also be a back door single for them but that is progably my fav track by them ever. Ashes is a close second and could even be number 1 on some days. Both albums have very few skip tracks to me but thanks for sharing your opinions! You like what you like but that was brave of you to put both Ashes and Sacrament that low. Wrath is also sick. We loved it when it came out, overplayed it and got sick of it, starting not liking it. Now so much time has passed that it's super refreshing to revisit.

You make a good point and it's definitely time for me to revisit that album with a fresh set of ears. Appreciate the feedback \m/

Great list. honestly mine doesnt look that different. maybe ashes and wrath switched and the self titled a bit lower. Definitely agree with you on sacrament... some of the most boring songs on there. Sturm und Drang is my favourite too... Front to back almost perfection and enough innovation to keep things interesting. Also arguably the best production. 10/10

While I respect your choices an found it an interesting take, I have to say I completely disagree with you, I think Sacrament, Ashes of the wake and As the palaces burn are easily the 3 best and ill explain why, I've been a LOG fan for absolutely years and when those albums were released they sounded fresh, LOG were adding something new, and ever since those albums garnered them that success, they have just been rinse and repeat, paint by numbers ever since, with the exception of wrath maybe which while I'm not a massive fan atleast went a different direction. I meen I tried the self titled and take resurrection man as an example, as soon as I heard the riff I said to myself wow that just sounds like it was ripped right off of the Sacrament album.. to me bands bore me when It gets to the stage I feel like I've heard the riffs a million times before and that's why I can't really get into latest LOG, but each to there own and its no hate comment, my opinion is no more valid than your own

I mean that's totally fair. The 3 albums you cited were technically their golden years so I understand why so many people place those so high. That's why some of their best songs to this day are on those albums, and I just felt the album as a whole didn't stack up to other newer ones. Sacrament has like 4-5 insanely good songs and the rest are filler in my opinion. As a guitarist, I can tell you with full certainty that they've only improved with their riffs over time, so it just comes down to taste.

This is a very different list than I've seen from others. Most have Sacrament really high up, but I agree with you, it's not that great (still good though). My list: 1. Ashes of the Wake 2. As the Palaces Burn 3. Sturm Und Drang 4. Lamb of God 5. Wrath 6. Sacrament 7. Resolution 8. New American Gospel

Nice ranking man. I agree with most it and would likely be closer to it if not for the sentimental value of my higher picks.
