Lambeo TLC Released and More! - April Dev Blog

We are very excited to announce that after several months of work, we have released the update to bring Path of Titans to Unreal Engine 5.3! It includes a number of important fixes and improvements that we are using to bring the game to new heights!

Lambeosaurus TLC Released
Our Lambeosaurus TLC is also ready to head out the door! This TLC update brings new life to an old hadrosaur, with updated proportions, animations, and textures that make it look like a brand new dinosaur. A couple of its older skins, (Default, Swamp, and Barred) have also been updated as well to match its new look, so we’re excited to see what you think!
New Abilities
Lambeosaurus is not the only creature getting some love! Some of our newer creatures have also received some new abilities to improve their gameplay and player experience, based on feedback both from players and our own observations since their release days.
Underwater Effects
We have also updated our underwater effects, adding ripples and shafts of light that will change with the direction of the sun. Oceans feel more realistic than ever, and allow swimmers to feel the cool currents and beams of light shine through the murky waters.
What's Next?
Struthiomumus TLC
We are making great progress on the Struthiomimus TLC, and its remodel and animations improvements are wrapping up!
Game Modes
Our next big focus is on finishing and releasing our game modes. We have already tested them comprehensively, and have only a few minor adjustments to make before they are ready for everyone to play. We have also ensured that the game modes are actually fully compatible and stackable with other mods made by the community.
More Players Per Server
With this patch we have already implemented a very dramatic improvement to server performance. Previously, once a server reached about 80 players, its tick rate would begin to drop to 15ms or so, which resulted in players rubber-banding around when making sharp turns or moving quickly. However, with this heavy optimization pass we have managed to bump servers up to being able to handle 200 players with a tick rate of about 25ms, which is perfectly playable. We aren't quite yet finished with optimization, and we think there are still some further improvements we can make server-side.

Think we could add a “Padded Feet” ability? Many dinosaurs actually had padded feet to hunt around in silence and it would be nice to have quiet footsteps when you don’t want to be heard. If you attack with this ability you could get an extra amount of damage on your target. But if you’re found before you attack, you could take more damage as a consequence.

We really need a Spino TLC, maybe some better claw attacks or more ability’s, so far we only have three attacks and they barely do anything, bite, claws, and a tail swipe. I seem to get picked on the most as a Spino and I think it needs a TLC or at least some more ability’s. I know some of yall agree, use this as a vote so we can hopefully get a Spino TLC!!

It’s been a long journey, the isle Evrima came out and I don’t really enjoy it, especially as much as I enjoyed legacy. I love POT now and hope it’ll be a success for a long time to come.

Hey, wanted to say I love the game been playing since before Growth came out and when Allo was a good playable. I have been meaning to ask due to Allosaurus being larger in size to Metri and Cerato isn’t going to go back up to Tier 3? And will it gain some form of attention?

Im not sure if its an issue with the game or not but an issue i notifed after todays patch (27 april 2024) is that i really struggle to get my character to stop and start sprinting which is not an issue i had the day before that patch. Im on xbox one if this helps Alsoooo now that stance switching is possible on a non-modded creature, id love to see spino get stance switching between bipedal and quadrupedal. Id even just be happy if spinos crouch walk had it go quadrupedal!

Please revert the radius in which you can detect footsteps 🙏 its find if you muffle or lower the sound of footsteps of Dino’s but the radius of which you can detect then shouldn’t change

I absolutely love this game and all the work that's been put into it for years as it has grown, but forgive me for saying this, why isn't the main focus on the questing system which is the entire and most important "gameplay" of path of titans? I don't think there is a single player that enjoys the current questing system, and for it to be the only way to grow and gain marks in order to actually enjoy yourself in pvp, which is the core aspect of this game, I strongly believe that it should be the priority. Rather than adding new games modes and other features of which leads players away from actually playing the survival aspect of this game, why not fix the first game mode created rather than creating new ones on top of the one that is struggling?

I think all the changes are good the only thing that ever came to mind we’re not as many players play in the ocean and other than the breathtaking scenery in certain areas it’s kind of empty feeling Sometimes would be just like the fish that spawn near you that you can’t eat to make you feel like there’s other things in the ocean may be in the distance that could be silhouettes of schools of fish and creatures like megalodon for a mosasaurs darting into those shadows of schools and having them scattered and they kind of disappear like they’re going further away from you kind of like the scene where the whales slowly comes up to Marlin and Dory in the first finding Nemo but Opposite direction Edit Also very well could be flocks of pterosaurs in the far distance that are silhouettes that you can see flying in swooping through the air as they migrate away from the map

Will AI dinosaurs not only be used just for quest characters you can meet but also improving the quality of survival interactions? Like for example a migrational quest can take place at a certain time with 30-50 AI Dino’s of 1 species that you can join granted your the same species and they travel, eat, and fight predators similar to other users? Will there be hunting pack AIs you can join with so the problem of finding a group of same species players will no longer be a hassle? Can AI dinosaurs be available for future courting/sparring/ animations for nesting? Can you take on a male AI dinosaur in a fight to win a group of female AI Dino’s and establish a herd for control and breeding? Can there be AI boss dinosaurs that will guard a regional territory in which they will fight you to keep you out? And if you beat them can you win a large margin of points. These are just some ideas I have in mind that I hope will be cool and beneficial to players who want to survive and rp realism not just play battle Royal level up
