Nice to see a fellow Canadian. I’m currently considering trading in my 2019 manual corvette for a 2009 LP570-4 Gallardo. Learning everything I can. I’m in Southern Ontario. I realize this was posted 5 years ago.

a few more things to add for new owners: very bumpy ride, and noisy ride (thats expected i guess with a racing suspension), and the egear pump sounds the car makes while driving and shifting gears (sounds and feels like you are in a mech), squealing brakes, no cup holders, very small trunk space, finally thing to mention is the attention it gets - you will feel like a celebrity driving one of these :) - love my Gallardo!

lol who would even want a cup holder in a lambo

@grimmjob80906 жыл бұрын
Aelia Yousaf haha I don’t think cupholders and trunk space are a concern if your buying a Lambo, more of a toy than a daily drive

Honest and informative- regarding the transmission clutches wouldn't that be covered under a warranty issue? I mean 5000 miles and it needs replacing, sounds like a bad design? Stereo information surprises me as I would think when someone spends that kind of $$$$$ on a car they would get PREMIUM equipment, not think about upgrades, that front lift is a useful feature for sure, best of luck with it.I was just watching vehicle virgin and he said keep it in sport mode to keep the clutch engaged in a more 'locked up' position, he also mentioned putting it in N while at a light

@DieRichShop8 жыл бұрын
+distractos all i can say is save money if you live with your parinets and you have a job what i would do is save as much money as you can and in no time you can have one from what i seen you can get a Lamborghini gallardo 2004 for under 100k and a 2006 Lamborghini i think 150k not so bad if you ask me

Distractos...you posted this comment 3 years ago so I'm hoping you haven't had many significant life changes in that time. The best advice I can offer you is do NOT have kids. I'm 48, I have NO KIDS...and a good high-paying job, and I'm in a position now where I could have one of these if I decided to pull the trigger on it, so to speak. Unless you have a high-paying job, getting married will most likely remove all possibility of buying an exotic car like a Gallardo, and having kids will certainly eliminate all possibility.

How much should one reasonably expect to pay in maintenance costs per year? Also, does it vary much by model year? I recall you mentioned the shorter clutch life of the early models.

Good information. I guess I'm officially old, I don't see anything appealing about owning a car like this. Too flashy (I don't want constant attention), too noisy, ride's too firm, no room for anything, can't leave it anywhere without worrying about it, hard to get in and out of, WAY too expensive to buy and maintain. Useless in Alberta, the land of Nazi-like speed enforcement, but I'm sure it would be fun on a track. I would take a Porsche Carrera 4S over this, any day. Much more comfortable, practical and discreet, with reasonable maintenance costs.

Keep in mind that he has an older car. In 2009 they changed a lot of things like the clutch and interior. Never get an older car than 2009. My stereo sounds great although I would rather listen to the engine and all the ladies. I have 14000 miles on my clutch and it has a snap of 1.9. (That is the wear on the clutch. Max 5.7). I pamper my car and I have never raced it although I get offers every time I take it out. I do not street or track race. The main issue is that like any other car, take care of it. Yeah things are more expensive, but worth every penny. My main complaint is that at 6' I have a rough time getting in and out and I am not that tall.

@martinzshow43616 жыл бұрын
I drove one in 2018 summer and it was great. The car has so much personality - the transmission is the experience, the noise, the feel. LOL, make it more refined and it loses it cool.
@ECPP6 жыл бұрын
Thanks fornwatching and commenting. I totally agree, while its not "technically" flawless i believe it receives undue trashing from the press. I also think that this feels is unique and aggressive and the quite exciting. No doubt the newer dct transmissions shift fast and do work well, they are getting so good that it is hard to differentiate between an automated manual or an automatic transmission with a torque converter. It is a very good driving experience.

Pay no attention to all these haters and negative commenters here. Sure the camera work could be a little steadier but the info you share here is what's important. Great video! Keep them coming.

Toxic chemicals in a rear view mirror? Seriously? WTF?!!!! So let me get this straight...........a car manufacturer designs a mirror for a car that has toxic chemicals in it, knowing that at extreme temps it will leak?!!!! Hmmmmmmm.....why is there toxic chemicals in a mirror in the first place? I'm sorry I'm not a gear head nor an engineer by a long stretch but can ANYONE explain the "Toxic chemical mirror concept" to me?!!!
@Minithief3604 жыл бұрын
Little late on the response here, also not an engineer quite yet, just an Electronic Technician. The rear view mirror is auto-dimming. One of the best ways to make an auto dimming mirror is via certain chemicals. This makes it so as long as the chemicals dont leak, the mirror is pretty well set for the life of the car, no need to fix electronics. Realistically, if done in a way that isn't cheap bs to save money on building an exotic car, this is one of the best ways to have an auto-dimming mirror. Hope that helps 3 years ago.
