Honestly, if I was standing outside those two garage doors, I’d have been more excited to see that Caterham. I’m definitely of the Colin Chapman perspective. Lots of horsepower at the cost of lots of weight doesn’t appeal. That said, if you have a spare Lambo spider, I’ll take it off your hands...

Sorry to hear. I'm 64 and I have been riding a 1984 Yamaha FJ1100 that does more than I wish to use from a motorcycle. A track day showed me that. Surgery to my heart and other serious arterial operations I ran into late in life but I'm glad I can still get out on the bike. It's my sanity saver. I like the old school feel sensation of warming up 4 carbs and hearing the rush of them sucking through open air pods when I roll on. Caterham for me all day. Maybe the Hurracan after sundown for a dinner date.

The Cat offers so much fun for no money! Every km you will drive the Lambo as a race car will cost you so much (breaks, clutch, tyres....) that it will stop your happiness. I never felt good with #100keur sport cars, but I love fight against my R300.

Haha superb video lads. I have a dreary BMW 520D company car but when the weekend’s come along I’m out in the Caterham 7 or on my R1. Sold the ex wife and my old Lotus Elise 111R and got the Caterham. Worth it in every way for weekend hooliganism on the twisty stuff. Ex wife cost me a fortune anyway so wasn’t sad to see that model go. Great video again lads.

There’s a lot of cool options on these. My spec would be a 620S SV 5 speed in snakeskin green with outdoor cloth seats and retro 5 spoke wheels. I would drive it every day. Life is too short to drive a boring car.

The caterhm needs at least 200hp to become really quick. 1.8l 130hp is a smaller than a family car engine. Either a hayabusa or a s2000 engine would turn it into a beast. An aero kit would further inprove cornering and braking. The sequential gb is still nice to shift, still mechanical.

Caterham all the way! Yeah the lambo is nice, its a lambo after all. But, i prefer a true drivers car which i wont be afraid of crashing or scratching when in those kinda situations. And the caterham is definatly more fun and engaging than the lambo, or almost all cars for that matter.

It's not just about the cost of the vehicle, but also the running costs. Imagine the comparison on insurance and maintenance! Not an issue if you're a millionaire I guess, but the Caterham would certainly win that battle.

Driving a Caterham in the country will result in horse or cow manure being flung on the rear wing on the side opposite from the exhaust side. Whenever you drive over cattle grids the chances of inquisitive cows paying you a visit and hanging their head over you are existent. Also both driver and passenger better be prepared to wave back at all the people that stick their thumbs up as a sign of approval. People sometimes want to have a chat with you while you're waiting at the red traffic light. The non-driving related experience is also part of the enjoyment. And of course Caterhams go really well. I have never driven a Lamborghini but I'm sure they're a ton of fun to drive as well.

It's almost certainly the case that a minor-moderate repair bill on the Lamborghini could exceed the purchase price of the Caterham. LOL! I also suspect that the Caterham will be on the road in 30+ years. Can we say the same for the Huracan? At what point will its repair bills exceed the depreciated value of the car such that someone will just junk it?

All these modern Caterhams are not a patch on the clam shell winged 1700 Kent Crossflow on Webbers which are full of character. 4 speed live axel the best of the lot. 6 speed gearbox totally unnecessary on a Caterham.

What you need then is the 2020 Caterham “Super Seven 1600” with clamshell wings and throttle bodies with K&N filters poking out of the bonnet, same look, same feel but brand new 👍
