Steve, the rear shock adjuster at the bottom (damping) it’s got s- - - - H obviously soft and hard, which way is soft and which is hard ( left for and right for?) cheers

I’ve got the BGM dampers and rear shock. I’m now off Ito the garage to do some tinkering. Thanks for explaining the set up 👍🏻👍🏻. Cheers mate.

Another great informative video. Might have trouble with the tie wraps with the state of our roads in Blightey lol, Cheers Ste, keep up the good work & stay safe.

Hi ste , i remember the sag from your earlier video which was very helpfull for set up with my front BGMs , great idea about using a cable tie as that is an excellent tip m8 , my rear shick is a R1 with a 180 spring so obviously different set up to your BGM but the measurement method you just showed im sure will be the same so thankyou for that little tip also ste , another very informative video m8 👍✊🛵

BGM GOES FROM 120 TO 160 ? THINK THAT R1 180 IS A BIT HARD AND YOU ARE SMALL HA HA

Most of this is from motorcycle race bike set up . We dont have the high tech suspension but the format is the same . I race with a team and one of our riders races a BMW 1000rr and have given us lots of help from his experience......

Many thanks - much appreciated. My only question is how do you determine the optimal (unloaded) shock length? When I installed my BGM rear shock, I just matched the hole centres to the outgoing shock, but no idea if that was right in the first place! Cheers for this - really interesting and useful 👍🏻
@TheSteelweasel4 жыл бұрын
you should keep the standard shock length , if you change it you will change the telemetry of the bike like trail ? and rake ? this is another vid and not for the average rider so i probably wont do it ?

@@TheSteelweasel Increasing the rear shock length will steepen the head angle and lead to faster (twitchier?) steering. Decreasing the rear shock length will slacken the head angle and lead to slower (lazier?) steering.

@@jonzo167 yes if we had a ducati 916 sps we could play all day on the track with its adjustable head stock and i would be in dream land😍 nice explanation all comments are welcome thanks bro ...

Can I ask why you haven't set your sag to include rider weight?

Thanks for the info mate! I’m trying to set up for freeway speeds and what has been great for dirt and salt is proving to be shit for paved roads. Bouncing all over the place and need to adjust for a more traditional riding position
@TheSteelweasel2 жыл бұрын
Yes mate it's not easy setting up a lambretta they a not exactly high tech machines I find the bgm shocks ok for me but heavier riders have problems with the spring pre load cos the spring is too light . The only fix is a heavier spring with less pre load . Then the spring works correctly . Bgm 14 stone max after that theres too much pre load .

I’d like to thank you Steve, most useful vids on Lambrettas without exception, learned loads watching them & implemented lots from them. Cheers Gords (Hong Kong Lambretta Club)

Great video! I am looking into replacements for some cheap suspension bits on my Jet 200 and I think the BGM front and rear might be the best setup for the money for me so this was a really good watch. Thanks!
@TheSteelweasel3 жыл бұрын
bgm rear only good up to 13 stone after that the spring has too much preload they need a heavier spring as we range from 10 stone to 25 stone more spring options needed .

Dear mr weasel, can you point me in the right direction, just bought a gori super sport exhaust it’s going on my ‘59’ s1 which is standard 6v 150, so I know it needs to go 12v but my question is which is best kit option? Mainly using riding 30-50 mile ride outs with mates. RB20? Gori 200? Or something else😉 thanks for taking the time to read this hope to hear from you, all the best Splity 👍🏻

Hi you cant just bolt a kit on a 50 + year old motor it will fail for sure . Rebuild motor with gp crank and all new bearings . Recommend casa 185 kit or rt 195 kit , sip race crank 58 x 107 and bgm ignition or vape ignition . This will go nicely with your gori and standard card set up .
