I believe these modern Lambrettas are basically a Sym Fiddle, styled with a Lambretta vibe . I should imagine that 175 engine is a basic fan cooled lump . The only advantages over the 125 model , would probably be a slightly faster pick up, slightly better up hills & two up riding . This capacity size like you pointed out would likely attract an older elderly rider with full licence , who wishes to be able to down size to remain riding two wheels . The younger riders tend to want to progress to maximin cc s allowed in their licence group . The exception could be the younger or middle aged mod Vespa Lambretta scene , where these modern twist & go versions of classic styled scooters , are now being more accepted at scooter rally’s . A I75 cc version is a mid sized engine to them . I think at £2 • 800 it’s priced a bit too high . If I was after it , I would offer £2•50O tops , & use the £300 saved to fit a screen & rack plus a Lip up fatty & N / soul stickers & rock up at a classic scoot meet . 😎👍

An interesting test Gilly, the benefit of the V200 over the 125 is it revs lower so not as stressed, keep them coming mate soon be at 10k subs

Picked up a V125 from In2Moto a few weeks back. Absolutely love it. Yes, the looks aren't everyone's cup of tea but the 125 is definitely nippy!!! Each to their own. I can confirm this exhaust sounds better than the standard!

I like the v125. It’s been a while since I had a go on one, but I do remember it being brilliant around town. Which colour did you go for? I really like the grey and I like the bright orange.

Nice scoot, I wondered why the original owner sold it back to the shop of part exed it not that long after buying it, the answer is probably because it’s more show than speed. You’d be better off with a GTS250 or 300. But the looks do make you think of the classic Lambrettas, my dad had a TV200 in the late 1960’s and from the side it does look a bit like it. Good review and ride mate.

Thanks. I believe the original owner traded it in for the old 2stroke Vespa I did a review on a week or so before this. He wanted something older. He made a good choice. The older Vespa had loads more character than this.

@ Absolutely, although in fairness they have tried to replicate the classic Lambretta but in reality it’s a Sym joymax 200 in a classic looking frock. I love the old 2 stroke Vespa’s as well , full of character and I can understand the guy wanting something a bit more “original”, he made a good choice as you said.

I think the weight you've quoted is for the V50 not the V200 which unfortunately is nearer 134kg

According to the reviews it's a bit like the 125 and 200. The x300 is the nippy one and the g350 is very chilled.

I quite like these but a bit underpowered for my use, I did wait as long as I could for the 350 but sadly no sign of it this year so I ended up buying a new GTS 300.

Not a fan of modern retro scooters, or Retro scooters, although i like to see them. As i said i have a SH300 and that would eat this for dinner, although i got its a bigger engine. You should try a 300cc scooter, if in2moto gets one in, Xmax is good any of the 300cc/350cc Hondas the ADV 350 looks a nice bike! I do think scooters a dismissed as slow and not a real motorcycle, when if people had a go on one they would really have a big grin on their face! As for Diet bud, Look at Keto! You will never be hungry! Although the switch over from burning carbs to burning fat can have its toilette issues! I lost 4 stone in 7 months, but was too skinny i looked like a teenager, (11 stone) so i put 2 stone back on over 2 years and that to be an ideal weight. Seriously look it up!!

I love a 300. Been on a few bigger engines scooters. The ease of the Rev and go with all the extra power 😍. What’s not to love.

The underseat storage is a big bonus. Lots of the classic style scooters don’t have any.

Get rid of the Tasso pipe that’s what’s killing the performance , had 1 on my wife’s royal alloy and binned it !!

I like the looks but the performance is a bit disappointing. Makes more sense to just get a 125.

I agree. It’s got a little bit more cc than a 125 so I expected it to have a little more power than a 125 but it didn’t. Performance was on par with an average 125 geared bike.

That exhaust HAS to go. It's hacking me off on the TV, let alone the amount of people being hacked off on the route. Wonder if it's ruining the performance too? Rev counter on a CVT? Tape it over. Other than that, I always start wanting a scooter again when I watch one of these vids. ( Just not this one)

I don’t think the mic on the camera did it justice. It didn’t actually sound that bad. Louder than average though.

I have never seen a 200 IRL. I don't know. I know the Hondas etc. that are our 125s with bigger engines pull. They just have the depth in performance that our 125's don't have. I am not sure that this has the same. Lambretta range is strange. They have these scoots that are SYM priced. And then they have that is it X range priced in Vepsa territory. I don't know. Royal Alloy or Vespa for me I think.
