I’ve just been studying biblical laments and have found little in western Christian worship to echo the themes of the lament Psalms or Lamentations. Thanks for sharing this beautiful song, cry, plea, lament ... and for crying out in hope and faith amidst the brokenness.

I listened to this song frequently during my husband’s time with cancer. Now he has passed and this song reminds me that God isn’t scared of my questions, my anger, or my pain. Thank you for writing a song that helps me to be open with God when I just don’t have the words.

Thank you for sharing that. Every writer involved in this song has experienced loss in some way and - speaking as one of the writers - I can tell you tears were shed during the writing of this song. It was an incredibly powerful few hours and God spoke in and through us during that time. I'm grateful he continues to use this song for healing and bringing others closer to him. All the best 🤍
