When Mel was not receptive to reuniting Martel began to get nasty and malicious and started to prop the side chick up (the one with the baby on the way) and put Mel down. She was quiet and composed but he kept going on and on until he got a response from her. Yes she threw a glass that hit the ground and broke. They are divorced which puts them in a different situation but in the place they are at now, he refuses to respect her and her boundaries in addition to trying to take the kids from her because she will not do what he wants her to do. He tries to manipulate, control, and gaslight her and still tries to get back with her (not because he loves her but Martel misses the lifestyle). Until this is cleared up doing things together is impossible and you will not use "for the sake of the kids" as a control tactic. After having watched this video and others, reading some of his past posts on social media about Melody, and being a fan of the Love and Marriage Huntsville series, I have come to some harsh conclusions about Martell Holt. The fact is that he really can not fathom and is simply incapable of understanding that as a result of his repeated adulterous behavior during his marriage to Melody, he has forever altered his relationship with her and their four, beautiful children for the worse. He quite literally destroyed his intact family. All of the hopes and dreams his wife and children had for their future as a family unit were completely shattered and cannot be restored. While he uttered all of the appropriate mea culpas to Melody and promised to never betray her again, his actions convey that he is a person who is wholly void of any semblance of empathy for anyone other than himself. He slept with another woman (infamously dubbed ‘Coleslaw” by a KZbin vlogger) for several years and impregnated her multiple times. Reportedly, a couple of those pregnancies with his mistress overlapped or were close in time to when his wife was also carrying their children together. And he continuously violated the love and trust of his wife and their children for a woman he spontaneously called “a peasant, low class” during his therapy session. (Despite my initial shock and offense at the comment, I now see from their continued relationship following Martell’s separation and divorce from Melody how well suited he was with his mistress). Martell’s betrayal of his wife and children with this other person was bad enough, but the prolonged and overwhelming verbal and financial abuse, disrespect, manipulation, and emotional assaults that he has inflicted upon Melody since she left him three years ago make a side chick and an outside baby feel like a walk in the park. It is frustrating for me as a fan and viewer of the LAMH show to see that he doesn’t seem to grasp the nature and extent of the trauma that he caused, and continues to cause, to his ex-wife and four children, particularly while he professes to love them. I believe that he honestly believes] that he loves them and wants his old life with them back but for some reason, he appears to constantly sabotage his own efforts with every disparaging tweet, every uninvited visit, every lie and mistruth, every verbal attack, etc. Love does not look or feel anything like this. True love is selfless and unconditional and often requires sacrifice. I recognize that my knowledge of this former couple is quite limited but even with that caveat, I’ve never seen Martell willingly sacrifice anything for Melody or their children. Melody, on the other hand, repeatedly sacrificed her dignity, self-respect, pride, physical and emotional health and wellbeing, and only God knows what else all in the name of love and preserving her family. Anyone watching the show from the beginning knows that Melody, at one point,really loved her husband. To see the many cruel tactics Martell implored to try and control and/or punish her for refusing to reconcile the marriage is quite disturbing and gets increasingly more alarming as each episode airs. He has gotten very volatile toward Melody and at least two other female cast members by screaming and using his physicality to intimidate and bully them. And to know that I share the concerns of many female members of the LAMH audience. These kinds of scenes are not entertaining and we, the fans, often wonder and fear what his off-screen antics with Melody are like in light of their contentious custody litigation that is pending. I hope and pray that / You cannot repeatedly sh** on the fancy Persian rug in the middle of the living room, fail or refuse to clean it for years, then reasonably expect that you won’t have a stain or a smell. We all have free will and the power to exercise choice, and choices have consequences, intended or not. So, Mr. Holt, the consequences of your betrayal to your wife and your treatment of her and her children post-separation are that: (1) you no longer have an intact family unit with your ex-wife and your four children: (2) neither of you has the privilege of waking up with them in the morning and praying with them each day; (3) Christmas, birthdays, vacations, etc. will likely not be enjoyed among the six of you together; (4) you and Melody will never know the extent of the professional/business goals you likely would have achieved as Holt & Holt, Inc ; (5) Mariah, Tank, Maliah, and Malani will have a stepmother and stepfather soon and additional siblings on both sides soon; (5) Melody does not trust you; (6) and I Melody does not love you romantically anymore and will not protect you. I wish he leave her alone.
