I bought a Browning ultra xs black laminate after shooting the xs Pro, couldn't stretch to the price of the xs Pro, but bought my ultra xs with barrel and stock weight kit. Shoots and looks fantastic, in my opinion. But it does divide opinion in some cases. Keep up the great work 👍

Yes. Aesthetics are subjective but a decent laminate is a superior material for making gun stocks out of.

Laminate is better than either walnut or synthetic in high powered rifles due to it’s stability. Walnut can swell with heat and moisture which changes POI. Synthetic can flex from the recoil. (Some are less susceptible to this than others). Laminate just makes a rifle more accurate. Extra weight helps with this too.

I prefer decent Walnut on a shotgun generally, however if they did a laminate in the green colour such as the Weirauch green laminate, I'd certainly consider it.

I like the look of laminate on milsurps where appropriate. Going to stick with regular wood for most shotgunning, but would consider laminate for a duck or all weather application.

Another great presentation David. I really don't like laminate guns; I don't feel the same 'connection' with laminate as I do with wood. I like marriage of wood and metal in a firearm and the joy that comes from caring for the wood. If the wood is derived from sustainable forests, then it is also good for the environment. Are laminate stocks made from virgin or recycled materials? I guess the maintenance will be less with laminate, especially if the gun is used for rough shooting.

I have always been a traditionalist wood and metal until I saw my cz455 laminate thumbhole just had to have It my sons couldn't believe it when I bought It

like the lam but would like to see a different design when you see some of the grade 5 wood around , if being of laminated construction they should pretty much be able to do any design ????

I liked Brownings game version and the fact that they dropped the tulip forend . A Prince of Wales style grip would have landed it in my gun cabinet pretty darn quick.

I like the look of the laminate - moreso the grey / black sporter versions than the brown game version though. But my gripe with laminates - at least the Brownings I've tried - is that the checkering on the grip was notably sharper, almost uncomfortable compared to the wood version.

I’ve two Weihrauch 98s and prefer the 98 laminate it seems better balanced then beach I love laminate i’m thinking of buying a boyd’s thumbhole gray laminate stock for my .22lr next. I’ll add i really do love the 525 SL

The reason the Germans first used laminated wooden stocks in WW2 is because scrap bits of wood instead of going to waste were processed into a cheap laminated stocks , therefore removing the need to source solid timber & it's added costs in milling & manufacture time , particularly as the tide of war started to go against Germany .

Well figured walnut is a bit of a rareity on mainstream shotguns - so most lack that depth of grain and colour - lamination brings more visual interest to an otherwise boring,flat looking stock. There is nothing better, however, than a well finished ,deeply figured , solid wood traditional stock to raise your game and inject that bit more pride and care into your shooting.

Ive always preferred laminate, in a tasteful colour like gray or blacks they are nice, when they start coming in yellow, greens and blue laminated they kind of look cheesey.

I dont minde it have a cz 455 with it but what i dont like about it are the some crazy collars they make with it like blue wood where the hell do u c a blue tree it all depens on the money for me if wood is cheaper then wood it is if laminated is cheaper then ill pick that becaus the internals ar still the same

The Canadian police have a new rifle with orange/gray laminate stock , looks good to my eyes , would suit a competition shotgun but not a game gun .

Tikka TX3 Arctic w/iron sights is the choice for the Canadian military in the far far north. Nice looking gun and functional for the weather and what it is meant for

You cannot 'fit' a laminate stock. It won't bend. That's why they're adjustable cheek pieces. My only criticism.
