Im Dominican and i havr to say watching your videos tells me that haitians and Dominicans eat the same exact foods and srasones the same. The only difference is that they have different names lol.

New Subscriber here. Wish I could find Akasan in Brooklyn NY. But there is a Restaurant in Queens NY called LA Bon Pain that makes it so I'll use Corn Meal instead.

Cookie l If you haven't had any luck purchasing the fine cornmeal, you could check any ethic supermarkets in your area. Especially ones that sell Hispanic, Latin & foods from the Caribbean.

Sorry to say but that was not AKASAN, it is cornmeal porridge which is what we call labouyi mayi but AKASAN is fermented cornmeal porridge, it has a very distinctive flavor that set it apart from regular cornmeal porridge and without the fermentation process it can't be called AKASAN.

Have it with crackers or bread and you can drink it cold or hot. It's a soft dessert drink for ANY occasion!
