I just made some of this yummy goodness earlier this morning. Now it's all gone, my brother and sister in laws came by my house before church service and almost took it all. But I have a little more left for me and my husband for supper tonight. I love you girl, keep it up❤❤❤

MusicExclusive 7 well we eat the same thing of course because years ago we used to be just one country called Hispaniola. However although you got colonised by Spain and we got colonised by France... we still have the same tradition. History is wonderful😊

New Subscriber here. Wish I could find Akasan in Brooklyn NY. But there is a Restaurant in Queens NY called LA Bon Pain that makes it so I'll use Corn Meal instead.

Cookie l If you haven't had any luck purchasing the fine cornmeal, you could check any ethic supermarkets in your area. Especially ones that sell Hispanic, Latin & foods from the Caribbean.

Sorry to say but that was not AKASAN, it is cornmeal porridge which is what we call labouyi mayi but AKASAN is fermented cornmeal porridge, it has a very distinctive flavor that set it apart from regular cornmeal porridge and without the fermentation process it can't be called AKASAN.
