The car in the movie was not a Superleggera & does not have the stripe. It was an early 2000s Gallardo. The likelihood about the side tampo mixup is either that: A. the car was designed before the detail of the car was released. B. The designer didn't do enough research and made a mix up. C. They purposely used the Superleggera since they don't have the same Gallardo casting in Premium.

Based on how many errors and mistakes they've done in the past, I'm going to say it's B. I don't believe A because if they're designing the car, they damn well should've all the details. And definitely not C either because they have the regular LP 560 casting but they decided to use the Superleggera anyway for whatever reason. Also note that the gold car has that little black tampo in front of the front wheels, which is not there on the movie car but it's there on the old yellow version.

@LongtailGT the LP560 isn't in Premium, so I'm not sure if that means they'd have to tool a new metal base for it or if they could just use the basic tool to make the metal base. Either way the Superleggera has been used a few times already in various Premium Sets, so it was probably easier for them to use that instead.

That first Superleggera isn’t accurate to the LP-570-4 variant (taillights, side deco). It’s supposed to mimic the look of the pre-LP Gen, but uses the newer model because Mattel didn’t want to tool the older version. Always hoping for a proper premium release of the LP car, in stock-green.

I like the M5 fs. Im bothered by the fact that Hot Wheels continues to not be exact with these movie models. The Gallardo isn't supposed to be a Superleggera in this one. They also did tbis with the Murcielago, RX7(no spoiler), GTX(no spoiler) and the S2000 (shouldn't have a roof for Suki). Mainly just small details that wouldnt cost much to make a change.

I wish they would stop releasing “replica” versions of movie cars that just aren’t even slightly accurate… the Gallardo in Fast X is a first generation (probably 2004-2005) base model Gallardo, yet the “replica” by Hot Wheels is a second generation Superleggera… It’s so lazy. They couldn’t even be bothered to take the base model LP560 casting, which they’ve had for over a decade by now, to premium - which would’ve at least been slightly more accurate. Not to mention the absolute mess around the white Cayman GT4 they released a while back 😅
