Lamley Showcase: Mini GT Director Glen Chou previews the upcoming James Bond 007 Line

I traveled out to Mini GT Headquarters to chat with Director Glen Chou about developing the highly-anticipated James Bond 007 line. Glen goes into getting the studio's approval, going through licensing, the approach to design and on and on. Glen is always great about giving us the honest details of this process, and it is fascinating. Most importantly though, he previews what is coming!

Haven't seen a complete premium Bond collection in 1/64 so I'm very much looking forward to this series. If there's any company that can do it justice it's Mini GT.

Six years! It blows my mind to realize Mini GT has been around since 2017; it feels like just yesterday that I was picking up their Honda Civic Type R and LBWK Nissan GT-R before everyone and his brother was doing LBWK. I'm so happy that they've truly entrenched themselves as one of the main players in the in premium 1/64 die-cast market. I am so hyped for these James Bond models! I may be in the minority but I'm actually looking forward more to the newer stuff like the Aston Martin DB10 and the Jaguar CX75 from Spectre. I actually have a 1/18 DB10 from the old Hot Wheels Elite days so this 1/64 would make an excellent companion piece to it. As happy and excited as I am to see these updates, though, I still hold out hope that someday (maybe soon) Glen will: a) confirm if it's true that Mini GT will be producing Ferrari cars for BBR similar to the Maserati MC20 and the Alfa Romeo GTA Giulia, and b) showcase some of those cars. Some pics of models have been popping up on Reddit and I gotta say, they have got me (and I can say with some confidence, a LOT of other people) really excited!

Maybe I missed it but did Glen say we will see these castings outside of James Bond? I hope so. Would love to see the V8 Vantage in some classic Aston Martin colors. One of my favorite cars of all time.

Glenn keep saying about that amazing Licncoln Capri though he forgot that he promised to release more of oldschool or muscle cars like 2 years ago. How many recolours of Capri they released? 5? Movie cars are for movie fans, not car fans. Please don’t go too far down this path. And PLEASE make a stock Esprit, not just the stupid movie car!
