I bought the Remix S 3 pack (from Trident!). Worth the $80 difference on for the 3 pack but I agree the reel only option doesn't make sense price wise. If Lamson offered a 3 pack for the Guru S I'd have gone that route.

Lamson reels are great but you're right about not enough juice for the squeeze on the Remix. I'd buy the S or go to a Guru. I have the old Liquid, a Guru, a Speedster S and Litespeed M. Thinking about a Liquid S in a 9+!

Another comment, the gold color on the old version was nice looking but I don’t see that color available on this new version (2 drab looking colors only). Lamson should really offer at least a couple more colors. I bought a couple sizes of the old version on sale for the same price as the liquid was. Yes I agree they could have done more on this model.

Thanks, Ben for the great review. This newly designed remix and liquid s look very similar to the Speedster S, With these 2 new designs is it still worth it to buy the Speedster S for the price point? Is it a much better reel?

That’s really up to you. The Liquid/Remix drag is a similar design to that of the upper level Lamsons, but it’s not the same. The Speedster has a machined frame AND spool, and is lighter size to size. Plus, it’s components are saltwater proof, where those of the Liquid and Remix are not.
