They Hunger is a mod for half life that was released back in 1999, only 1 year after half life in 1998, and for the time it had really impressive visuals (which still look good today), and custom voice overs. The mod has 3 episodes to it. This video only includes the second one, which was (for me at least) longer than the first, taking an hour and 30 minutes.

I always felt like this mod is kind of cool and dandy in the beginning. Old school zombies saying things like "braaaaaains" and shit, thriller like atmosphere. I actually feel a sense of dread. Then it turns into Doom parasol edition, bang bang, crazy scientist, Frankenstein, yee haw. It's an interesting mix of themes but imo it doesn't really fit together. Oh I forgot about something. The headcrabs uses the original They Hunger model in this version. And I am 99% sure they are simply suppose to be decapitated heads. Remember, this was an extremely early mod for Half-Life. And though they definitely learned a lot when making Chapter 2 and Chapter 3, they did reuse the original models from the initial release as well - which is why some of the Zombies look so much crustier and messier than others.

I don't know if that's the original headcrab or you just failed to install the mod properly. In Sven Coop, the headcrabs of They Hunger are not really headcrabs. They are actually spiders with a human head. That's why they can speak.

You go to your steam directory, go to the steamapps folder, then go to the sourcemods folder, and put old Gmod in there.
