This pen has interested me for years. The price is a bit high but it looks so intriguing.

Neat review, as always, Mick. This looks like a very good pen. The price is par for the course, really. The nib looks the same as that on my two Lamy Imporium/Persona pens. It is fantastic writer. Looks oddly too small as a nib in a retractable pen of the girth of the Dialog CC. The retractable nib pen I love best is the Stipula DaVinci ❤️. Nothing else compares to that.

Good review as always, Mick. Are you going to get your hands on the Diplomat Viper? My wife ordered me the blue one from Appelboom for Christmas. They were out of stock but hopefully they get one before Christmas.
@theoffstageme11 күн бұрын
@@jamesfahey7188 yeah, the stock of vipers generally is pretty low. I have one on the way, but the review wont be for a while. Just too many other pens to cover. But I’m really looking forward to the Viper. I love Diplomat, and I enjoy this format of pen… so fingers crossed.

@@jamesfahey7188 oh, and if they ever add a viper in dark green… I’ll be getting one of those too.

@ yeah I heard the owner on Joost’s program and he said they went with 2 colours and one nib size to test the market. From all the reviews I’ve seen and the fact you can’t get one, I think they’re onto a winner here. I love it how they strived to keep the price down on this one. I would love to see the inside of their workshop and how they machine them. I think that’s why I love the brand so much: you’re really getting something that is made with care.

1. I've wanted this pen since I first saw it. However, a cheapo Chinese retractable pen showed me that I have no valid use case for one. 2. The retail price puts it out of range. However, note that in ebay there are a handful available for less than $100US. I wonder if they are real; coming from China is not encouraging. 3. Just yesterday I was thinking that I would benefit from a tactile indicator that I was unconsciously rotating the pen in my grip. The roll stop here might just do the trick. I guess I'm a prime candidate for the Safariesque triangular grip that I scorn so much. Aesthetically I object to both this roll stop and any non-round grip, but I bet actual benefits would help me past that. 4. Thanks for the show.

I grabbed a blue Dialog cc a couple of Christmases ago, when Lamy Australia were offering a huge site wide discount. I agree, it's a beautiful pen - maybe just a *touch* girthy, but I still love writing with it...

@@jamerelbe I got this in a big Lamy sale too. I think it’s a great pen at full retail price… but if you can get it a good discount it’s phenomenal

@theoffstageme No argument from me - it's not the pen in my collection that I most enjoy writing with, but still makes it into my rotation pretty often!

Lamy has been bought out by the Mitsubishi Pencil company. This is a very good pen, but I suspect you do need to flush out that nib area out,keep it clean for that nib cover to seal properly. If the cover doesn’t close properly, you will run into problems with hard starts. I chose a Broad nib.

I really like the looks of the Dialog CC, but I'm worried about the pen drying out. I always have five pens inked up... How does it perform on this?
@theoffstageme12 күн бұрын
@@ArjanD78 I’ve never had an issue with my Dialog 3 or Dialog CC drying out. Granted, when it’s been inked I have never left it more than a couple of days with out using it.

I'm almost certain that this will be my christmas-gift from me to me. (matte blue with rosegold trim, F-nib) Fun fact: That's what the "cc" stands for: C apless / C lipless
