LZ: here, gift! WWX: what are these roosters for? LZ: i'm asking you to marry me, you dum... Too bad the drama couldn't at least have romantical dialogue. I know kisses and other stuff is not everyone's preference, but that confession at GuanYin temple was too fluffy and adorable, they could have simply cut the part where WWX admits wanting to be intimate with LZ earlier, cause censorship. But not one "i love you" or "i care about you", "you are my life"? At least they could have let them express their feeling with a more direct dialogue.

Я посмотрела этот фильм не один раз и увидела настоящую любовь и дружбу..а химия там просто зашкаливает..и они не единожды признавались друг другу в. Чувствах.итем как заботились и как переживали и как защищали и как плакали чувствуя боль другого..понимали без слов..разговаривали иногда глазами..я их просто уважаю❤❤

Oh dear, don't start me on that. So much tragedy for these 2 😭 My top 2 sad parts (can't believe i made a top for this) are: the golden core reveal and Lan Zhan's horrible punishment reveal. Both heartwrenching for Lan Zhan and Wei Ying. The portrayal of pain by LZ's actor in the core reveal scene was so well done, i felt the character's pain. I wish they could let the punishment reveal the way it was in the book, while cutting the romance nuances out of it cause censorhip 😑 There would be no censorship if it were a japanese or thai version. Recently saw the thai adaptation drama of Cherry magic, 30 years of virginity can make you a wizzard, and it had no censorship.

It's actually a tradition hailing from ancient China. When a man wanted to marry, he would gift a pair of chickens to whom he wanted to marry. But here, we have 2 roosters because these 2 lovers are guys. Drama producers managed to sneak a BL part by making this scene, since lgbt stuff is censored by chinese gov. But the uncensored version of the novel and the manga describe and show very spicy scenes, the whole thing is rated R18.
