Born To Die is a good album (and has aged pretty well too) but it was when the "Ride" music video came out that I fell in love with her. The Paradise EP is such a strong set of songs. My parents - especially my mom - enjoy Lana's music a lot, and her cover of "Blue Velvet" is what first got them hooked since they know the original so well.

Ben, it took me 9 years to like Yayo. I was half asleep when it started playing and suddenly it just clicked. I fugging LOVE it like crazy now. You might want to listen to Yayo on the Lana Del Ray (Ray with an A) AKA Lizzy Grant album as that original recording will connect with you the structure of the song faster and allow you to hear the lyrics better.

Her good friend came over and he had gotten a giant dragon tattoo on his back. She told the story about how surprised she was so she wrote Yayo. And changed the tattoo to a snake because it sounded better. Ride is all about freedom and so much more. When you watch the video, you'll understand. 🧡
