Elizabeth Woolridge Grant (born June 21, 1986), better known by her stage name Lana Del Rey, is an American singer-songwriter. Del Rey initially began performing in clubs in New York City at age 18 and signed her first recording contract when she was 20 years old with 5 Points Records, releasing her first digital album Lana Del Ray a.k.a. Charting across Europe, the album spawned numerous top ten hits, including "Blue Jeans", "National Anthem", "Born to Die", and "Summertime Sadness." With the release of her third EP, Paradise, Del Rey spawned her third top ten album in the United States, debuting at number 10 on the Billboard 200 with 67,000 copies sold in its first week. To date, her discography includes two full-length studio albums, three EPs, seven singles, and eight music videos. She has won the Q Award for "Best New Thing", a GQ Award for "Woman of the Year", a BRIT Award for "International Breakthrough Act" and another for "International Pop Female Solo Artist", and an EMA for "Best Alternative Act".
Del Rey's music has been noted for its cinematic sound and its references to various aspects of pop culture, particularly that of the 1950s and '60s Americana. The singer has described herself as a "self-styled gangsta Nancy Sinatra." Before signing to a major record label, Del Rey provided sole production of her music videos. Musically, she draws influence from what she deems to be the masters of each genre, including Elvis, Janis Joplin, Eminem, and Britney Spears, as well as from poetry and film noir. Obviously everyone goes through a lot experiences in their life. Your mom is going through the same. I can see why she’s a little too sensitive and why you’re gonna keep your feelings to yourself. All I can tell you is politely ask for therapy if you can. Try online if you can. It doesn’t cost much (depends on the therapist). Only keeping to yourself and not really working your feelings out will harm you more. I learned that the hard way after losing a friend 3 years ago. It’s gonna get better love, trust me. Won’t be the same but it’ll eventually get a little better for you. Don’t suffer in silence. You deserve to talk to someone, remember that. Friends, a dog, journal that pain out if you can. Let it out someway. I don’t think your dad wants you to suffer, remember that. Just slowly approach your mom with the issue when you deeply feel the time may be right? Or be straight forward with her, I don’t know your style with communication with people. So I’m just suggesting and questioning. Remember you’re loved. You’re not alone. You deserve to talk to someone. This pain shall pass. I hope this helped some if you read this. 💕

I just graduated at the age of 26 with my biology degree with first class honours yesterday. My journey has not been easy, i was in medical school abroad at 19 years while there i was terribly bullied by someone who was my friend. I then started medical school again locally at 21 .i spent 2 years but i was having mental breakdowns as it was too stressful for me to handle. I felt like giving up on my education. This reminds me of my father who passed away in 2012, I never had met him in my life and I was going to meet him the week he passed away, he wasn't waiting on the other side of Ohio (Which is Youngstown) and then me and my mother went home maybe thinking he would be there at our house. Well when we had gotten to my house my Uncle Nick called and said that my father has passed out in the shower and his head hit something severely sharp and he died, but my father was really sick because he had diabetes. I started listening to Lana because of my depression and my life was really bad, Lana made me feel better, her songs meant something to me, I don't know what it is, but the songs are just beautiful and when I hear one my life just lights up, and when it rains and I turn on a Lana Del Rey song it stops raining. I love her so much and her songs have helped me through life a lot. :)

This song slightly reminds me of a dream I had about this 14-15 year old girl who doesn't have any familial support so she gets an older (around 23 year old) boyfriend just so she can be rebellious or whatever, but then she realizes that he's actually in love with her and that she feels the same way. She soon finds out that he hates himself a lot and is an alcoholic. She wants to send him to rehab, but knows that they'll be torn apart if she does, so selfishly, she doesn't get him help. They're fighting one night about him drinking and she leaves. When she comes back a few hours later, he got alcohol poisoning and basically killed himself on accident. She lies to the police and says she's 16 (which is the legal age in their country) and they send her back to the streets with his wallet aside from his ID. She spends her 16th birthday alone, and develops bulimia out of self-loathing. She keeps thinking about what would have happened if she had let him go, or if she hadn't left that night. But she also believes that his death was probably for the best, because he was happier that way. Sure, she made him smile, but he never was truly happy, and only in death would he be able to rest. She keeps thinking about all the things he told her, about how he loved family-owned diners and cheesecake and how he can't help but cry during Tears From Heaven. And she always thinks that she never minded sleeping on lumpy beds that smelled like cigarettes because those crappy motels were theirs and only theirs. It was probably the first dream I've ever cried about ever.

We had just finished brunch with his mother befor we headed north on his motorcycle, my arms rapped around him I held him tight thinking I was the luckiest girl alive. We pulled up next to his pickup at a service station, where he kissed me and said he'd see me at home. I followed him threw the town and down the road, I even snapped a few photos as he road ahead of me, again feeling like the happiest girl alive. We crossed the river and headed up the bending road only 9 miles from home. He disappeared over the top of the hill and that was the last time I'd see him alive. When I crested the hill I seen a cloud of dust and I knew his bike had left the road. I was scared at the thought of he probable was going to be very upset and his bike was going to need fixed. As fast as I could I pulled onto the side of the road slammed the pickup into park, jumped out and ran to his side. Here laid there motionless as I begged and screamed for him to be alive. I tried to feel for a pulse but my heart was pounding so hard I could tell. I tried lifting the bike off his leg so I could move him from under it, it was so heavy i couldn't move the bike. I called his name over and over as i dialed 911 for help screaming as loud as i could for help, noone could hear me. It took 12 minutes befor the first car came pulling up and they rushed to our side. After lifting the heavy bike a woman tried CPR but he was gone, he had been gone since the minute I reached him. I don't know why he wrecked all I know is blunt force trauma from a road sign is the reason we never made it home that Sunday afternoon. God I miss him. I miss the part of me that left with him too, I actually felt it leave my body as I sat there helpless beside him. I don't understand why God didn't take us both, he could have I was just on that same road with him befor we grabbed his pickup. I'm 42 years old and for the first time in my life I don't know how to move forward. I live in the past everyday since my baby went away. I try my best, but I am stuck and alone every God forsaking day. I love you Erich and I live for the day I see you again my love ❤❤❤
