Lana Del Rey definitely brings a unique vibe to her music that some people might not fully appreciate. She's got this dreamy, nostalgic sound that's not everyone's cup of tea, but for those who connect with it, her music is like a whole mood, you know? It's like she creates this cinematic experience with her songs that can really take you to another place.

It's a whole different experience to listen to her albums straight through as opposed to listening to songs out of order online, it is for me anyway. Every one of her albums is an experience so if you haven't listened to any of them straight through and have been jumping around, I recommend you give it a try. You can see how much she grows from album to album. She is truly an amazing artist.

Lana del Rey is what the music industry has been waiting to witness for so long: a unique, different, and highly individualized voice, with such a revolutionary persona. She mixes the soul classy woman with the heart of a rebel teenager. Only those who know her vision and understand the pain she conveys through her lyrics can truly love her. High by the Beach is an invitation to freedom, to the basic of our needs as a human being which is our right to privacy and happiness. Well done, Lana!

+RockME AllDeus But they all praised her on the second record. Also if you read the reviews will unserstand that all they cared was her "authenticity", SNL, lip injection....but nothing about the music. Because the sound it was a mix of trip-hop mixed with songs that sounded like 60's movies with 2000's lyrics people responded to her originality and that album sold 5 million of copies.

This was stunning. Long, trailing shots cut with sporadic repetitions, emphasising the constant battle with the media and the paparazzi. I've only just got into Lana Del Rey recently. I listen to a lot of different styles of music, but mostly heavy metal, hip-hop and alternative rock like Interpol and The National. Her music has truly shocked me. She is popular, but it's not pop music. It's rich in story, style and, oddly enough, passive-aggressiveness. I love how she always has something poignant and personal to say, but isn't throwing it down our throats. It's subtle, delicate and sexy, all without sacrificing her identity as a woman and an artist, selling her soul to hysteria and mob mentalities. This is what pop music can be. This is what a beautiful woman can do with sounds that millions adore. Kudos to Lana and all those that worked hard on this project. Edit: A few have said that the point of the video and song could have been about a past relationship and the feeling of being trapped within it. It's an interesting idea that could well be true. I think I prefer it more than the paparazzi theme. But it doesn't explain the glossy magazine and helicopter photographing her in a seaside location, a common spot for snappers to pray on others in revealing situations. Love the dialogue this video has sparked.

Daniel West For those who haven't gotten the video, Its obvious the helicopter represents a man and Lana starting at the 3rd floor means she was feeling good at first but she starts falling through the floors and starts getting tired of this man that start representing just wind. Lana finally fills her cup up and run off to the shore stones where she will find a way to get rid off the man, this means it's hard to find that thing that gives you courage and usually the road it's tough. When she shoots and kill the man, she finally feels relief. For me Lana is getting stronger and I hope this album talks a lot about that too. Yes, it's funny the gun doesn't fit the case and her coat was tangled in the ladder and it was put there cuz nothing's perfect. Greetings

this videoclip is just so well made. it has lanas low-cost homemade videotape aesthetic and vibe but then there is a freaking helicopter just behind lanas window. If that particular shot of her standing and then slowly dancing in front of a helicopter, wind blowing her hair and dress, was freezed, it would TOTALLY look like Edward Hoppers painting. This kind of American Dream cliché (but not in a bad way) is so fascinating to me. It really is something so unique about Lana that I can't stop be fascinated by.

my favorite part of this video is that there's no big build up to her shooting that big ole weapon at the heli. normally you'd have a close up to the person and a sly smirk or something. or even a pause in the music. but lana is so bad ass she just does it like she does it every damn day. ygg.

@thesugarvenom41797 жыл бұрын
The first three minutes of the video are meant to be interpreted as this: Lana is walking around her house, acting unbothered by the Paparazzi helicopter that is circling her estate. At 2:18 she even goes as far as to entice the paparazzi by standing in the window and allowing her garments to blow around elegantly. This is Lana trying to lure the paparazzi in close enough to her home so that, in the final minute of the video, she has them in range so she can aim her machine gun at them and deal with the problem. In the grander scheme of things, this shows that Lana lives a very regular life. She doesn't do anything particularly interesting while at home. She just wants to relax, hence wanting to "get high by the beach" and not worry about the outside world. Unfortunately, even while keeping a low public profile, her privacy is constantly being invaded by invasive paparazzi and crazy fans. So Lana is giving us a glimpse here of what her life is really like: simple. That's what she wants. Simplicity. But sometimes, you must go to extreme measures to get what you want and Lana pokes fun at the "lack of privacy" situation by blowing up the paparazzi helicopter, almost hinting to the world not to fuck with her. She's secretly crazy. If ya'll view this video again with this interpretation in mind, it all might make more sense! Peace out.

The amount of hate on this video and nitpicking over little details REALLY goes to show how much time people have on their hands. "That's not a real gun!" "How could that fit in her guitar case?" Seriously guys?? It's a music video and if you don't get the tongue and cheek appeal, that's your problem. "This makes me go to sleep." Yeah, it's dreamy and surreal like a A LOT of Lana's music. I LOVE this song and video but the amount of pettiness... Personally, I love Lana's music and the CLEAR point the video makes about the paparazzi and her relationship with them. As for her fans that don't like it, that must be disappointing but she doesn't owe you a song that sounds like a carbon copy of the last one. People need to find better things to do than troll the Internet. Maybe some people should spend some time reading or going outside instead of hating on music they supposedly don't care about. OR even better, why don't you do something creative that comes close to Lana?

it wasn't a blooper, she runs past without getting stuck, and the time rewinds a few seconds and the second time she's in a different spot and it gets stuck. It's not just "not an accident" it was intentional. It's like she's halfway into reality, and also she's not in reality.

kingjay239 So, Billboard - or Nielsen Music - royally messed up their original reporting. According to “new chart data, which was reprocessed by Nielsen Music,” Lana did not sell 248,000 copies, but rather 67,000 copies, meaning that she did not debut at No. 7, but rather No. 51 on the Billboard Hot 100. How they got that so wrong?

Zachariah Sutherland I love when she "recycles" lyrics, like she's done in "High by the Beach". It shows that she has always been real in her own writing style and has overcome struggles since her pre-Born To Die career.
