Ultraviolence got a lot of backlash when she first released it, people said she was glamorizing abuse when in my opinion, an abuse victim can heal and work through their trauma any way they feel comfortable to do so, and because she has expressed this deep shit through this album so many people have connected to this music I find it really relatable and so many others do too :( so grateful for her for talking about her experience

I often think that sometimes when you’re in it and you choose “love” over the abuse you glamorize the toxicity in your mind to stay. It’s the cognitive dissonance many who have stayed in love in a toxic relationship fall victim to. I think it perfectly expresses that. At least that’s how it was for me with my abusive ex for 10 years. Crazy the spell I was under looking back now.

Sunset Ave and Vine St intersect in Los Angeles 😅 you're hilarious. "The Other Woman" is a cover, if you didn't know. So was Blue Velvet from the other album. I knew this would be a hell of a video and I was right, I'm so glad you enjoyed it! I hope you take a look at the Bonus tracks too, though I'm particularly biased, because Florida Kilos is probably in my top 5 Lana songs. (I'm weak, I can't pick ONE favorite- too many beautiful songs, haha) I also love when people pay attention to the lyrics, and you never disappoint there.

Both streets are notorious for being filled with human interactions, bars, prostitutes, groupies, poser’s, gift-shops, tourism, etc. but i definitely understand that there’s a specific energy in LA; it feels so familiar yet so foreign. LA is where dreams are either made or broken. ‘Sunset Blvd.’ is where the walk of fame is as well.

13:05 I was 15 when this is out and I love the song musically but never really understand the meaning of the lyrics. As I get older, when I finally understand the meaning of it, this is exactly my reaction 😂 ! And this actually happens to most of Lana’s songs. Shades of cool (a masterpiece), he lives in a pessimistic/depressive state yes he can't see the positives of life, also very relatable. Lou reed was supposed to do the backing vocals in Brooklyn baby but he died shortly before :( . ahah u got the bonnie and clyde play on words in sad girl luv it.
