I remember listening to this song about 5 years ago, exactly to this live performance. I was very depressed and suicidal at that point of time. I remember listening to her songs and loving her so so much. Because during the night when i couldnt sleep, i would feel extremely numb and had disturbing thoughts. Then I would come to this exact video. I would feel her love with her voice, her song, her little mannerisms and how she spoke, just everything about her. And i would fall in love, completely in love. So i would be enraptured by this feeling of comfort and love and joy. I can’t exactly explain it but I remember the sensation that my heart would feel like bursting from all the love and happiness. And so, for that 4 minutes and 6 seconds, the pain, the numbness, every bad thing would go away. I would cry of happiness and i would feel so safe and fall soundly asleep. Now listening to this, it brings me back. I still cry like a fucking baby when i hear her sing and that little “i love you guys” at the end, my heart explodes with every positive feeling. Though circumstances and myself have changed, the feelings haven’t. I’m so happy to find this gem again. Nothing quite captures the word “love” like Lana’s songs.

@youcallmelavender38643 жыл бұрын
She does portray her self as vulnerable compared to other songs, in this song she says "now my life is sweet like vanilla is" which is smooth, innocent when you think of vanilla you just think sweet, where as in another song in the album "radio" she sings "now my life is sweet like cinnamon" which is sweet but also has a spice, a kick to it like a double sided sword, this song has 0 curse words it's sweet and innocent where as radio has the line "like a fuckin dream I'm living in" giving a sarcastic meaning as if her life isn't this big dream it's made out to be, people may use her for money "baby loves me cuz I'm playing on the radio" all of this makes her seem grown and finally invulnerable unlike this song

Because she feels like people are just reading jer diary. Cause her label made her release these bombass tracks. Telling a beautiful postive relationship to a negative toxic relationship to her ex fiance.barry. from brooklyn baby to shades of cool. Things get dark and violent. Or do i mean, ultraviolent

@@lyn916 Her SNL performance definitely wasn't satire. At the beginning of this video she thanks everyone and says "and you know what I mean", The SNL performance was the month prior to this and she was getting made fun of pretty heavily. So the support she got here obviously meant a lot to her. And she has talked about how her stage fright + knowing she was being broadcast to millions is why she couldn't sing as well as she wanted on SNL. She actually cancelled all live TV performances and postponed her tour because of the SNL thing. The next week one of the cast members made fun of her by mocking her nervous singing. Bless her soul you can really see that she wants cry at the end. It must have been so gratifying for her to have a such a bigger crowd and have support from a bigger fan base. Honestly In her head she must have just exhaled and said finally ❤️

God she's perfect in every sense of the word. Unique isn't even a word that could come close to describing her. Such depth and pain in every note. An old soul from a bygone era. Drop dead gorgeous to boot. The gf you'll always wanted but never had. She's dope, she's deadly, she's all of the above.

The way she tells them she loves them at the end. And means it. ❤️ She’s an angel with her fans. I’m so lucky to have gotten to meet her. ❤️ She was an angel in real life as well. She truly loves and appreciate her fans.

Do you know why at the beginning she thanks the crowd? She tells the "you know what I'm talking about". Just curious about that.

This is still my favorite of her live performances, the way she sings “gold and silver line my heart” I can’t it still gives me chills

She’s just so mesmerizing to look at and listen to. It’s like looking and listening to an actual angel. So elegant and graceful ❤

This was beautiful. She was so confident here. This was her crowd, the one she built with her EPs and concerts in small clubs prior to her debut album release. With the shift to the major she was briefly marketed as a pop star but with Ultraviolence she proved she was serious about music. Throughout the years she remained consistent with her craft saying no to easy money and endorsements. I still love her now. She has her unique space and style in the music scene.

My favorite live performance from her, even after ten years. It seems like yesterday that I was listening to this on repeat... life back then was endless summer. I just didn't know.

Happy Birthday Born To Die! I can't believe this happened four years ago. She's come so far. I do admit, I was not a fan from the start, but that doesn't mean she means so much to me, her and her beautiful music. I could have never expected myself to comfort in music. Her music really helped me through so much. I remember having a very hard time last year. I was so restless during the night and I felt alone during those times. Lana's music was a great part of my healing towards the situation. Born To Die is such an amazing album. Thank you so much Lana for your music and I'm so, so, so proud of you. I may not know you in person, but that won't stop me from showing my appreciation for you. My love for you, Lana, is endless. I cannot thank you enough. Love you xoxo

So it's Valentine's Day but yesterday evening my husband gave me roses. I was already listening to this at the time and actually thinking of him. I completely busted in tears when he walked in the room with the roses. I'm super emotional as it is and cry more happy tears than sad. Growing up in certain environments and situations of extreme abuse tend to flip emotional responses. I cry when I feel love and all the good in my life. Anyway, I dedicate this song to my love. I wouldn't even be alive without him. Don you are the"Light of my Life" "I'm nothing without you..." ❤❤❤
