🎆LYRICS🎆 Why, who me, why? Feet don't fail me now Take me to your finish line Oh my heart it breaks every step that I take But I'm hoping that the gates, they'll tell me that you're mine Walking through the city streets Is it by mistake or design? I feel so alone on a Friday night Can you make it feel like home if I tell you you're mine? It's like I told you, honey Don't make me sad, don't make me cry Sometimes love is not enough and the road gets tough, I don't know why Keep making me laugh Let's go get high The road is long, we carry on Try to have fun in the meantime Come take a walk on the wild side Let me kiss you hard in the pouring rain You like your girls insane So choose your last words, this is the last time 'Cause you and I, we were born to die Lost but now I am found I can see but once I was blind I was so confused as a little child Tried to take what I could get Scared that I couldn't find All the answers, honey Don't make me sad, don't make me cry Sometimes love is not enough and the road gets tough, I don't know why Keep making me laugh Let's go get high The road is long, we carry on Try to have fun in the meantime Come take a walk on the wild side Come kiss me hard in the pouring rain You like your girls insane So, choose your last words, this is the last time 'Cause you and I, we were born to die We were born to die We were born to die Come and take a walk on the wild side Let me kiss you hard in the pouring rain You like your girls insane Don't make me sad, don't make me cry Sometimes love is not enough and the road gets tough, I don't know why Keep making me laugh Let's go get high The road is long, we carry on Try to have fun in the meantime Come take a walk on the wild side Let me kiss you hard in the pouring rain You like your girls insane Choose your last words, this is the last time 'Cause you and I, we were born to die (we were born to die)

I think the problem is that her live performances fail to impress people. She does write great songs but her voice just does not register. That and she does not have the commercial and management powers like other pop stars that are very dependent on controversy (and thus stays in the spot light).

I was 12 when this came out, i was obsessed with her instantly, and i still am another 12 years later. I had quite a controlling father who tried to stop me from listening to her music because of the lyrics, but that never came between the love I have for her music. If anything, it just brought me closer to it? I didn't have my own phone or computer, but i have such a fond memory of my grandad buying me the born to die CD. Thw first of her cds i ever owned. My grandad has passed now but ill hold onto this memory forever. I took it home and had it for a while, but it was eventually taken off me. I just remember being a little gay teenager who was misunderstood by his family. when I went to my grandparents, i had the freedom of being able to come onto KZbin and listen to Lanas music. It genuinely was a release for me. when I found this music, it literally soothed my soul from everything at home. That is the power her music resonated to me from the very beginning of my discovery of her and im so lucky to still have this connection to all of her songs today. Lanas music has been instrumental in my teenage years as it has been with many others. I'm not sure if anyone will read this, and I'm sorry for the basic trauma dump, but I love lana and her music so much and I wanted to share my connection to all of the songs:)

It's called sorrow, you're an old soul just like me. We are more aware of things, and are emotional to certain things. Such as this song here, we feel the pain and can connect on such a deep level that it triggers memories that correlate to this song. Maybe our lives perhaps, I know it's my life that makes me feel this way.

Shit music is hyped so much lately that rarely listen to commercial 'radio' music and thats why I never her a chance. I'm definitely a fan now. This is art. Period. Idc what anyone says. This song - and the Born To Die era in general was a cultural RESET. She opened the doors for so many artists. She deserves wayyy more recognition than she gets.

@@chrisr5909 Why do people like to drag Taylor into everything? Praise the singer you love without having to paint everyone else out as unoriginal.
