Basic viking knit pendant with big stone no holes - knitted wire pendant making
This method to wrapping stone suitable for many different stone shapes, Easier with flat stone.
With large and beautiful stones using this method can wrap stones, without overwhelming the beauty of the stone
With simple steps and simple tools Anyone can make their own accessories
With creativity you can change some details to create your own style
wire size to make pendant with flat drop cat eye stone 30x20mm (can + a few centimeters to depreciate)
18 gauge ( wire diameter 1.0mm ) : 15cm( 6 inch) = stone perimeter + 7-8cm
28 gauge ( wire diameter 0.3mm ) : 100cm( 40 inch) = perimeter stone x 15-20 (4-5 round)
TIPS :
Before doing, the wire should always be straightened, to bending is even and more beautiful
Can use a towel to straighten the wire.
Loop wire back to not slip
always wrapped according to one direction
if the wire can not be through holes, you can bend the wire to wire through the easier
The last round pulls tight wire to fixed the stone
Can be replaced with silver wire or gold wire for jewelry more valuable
Or simply use cheap material like copper wire to make gifts for friends, family or for yourself
I just give way reference, not the best way. Can change size wire to suit your purpose. You can do better than me.

Cool. This is how we weave to make dream catchers. I was thinking of doing that to make a pendant with a small mirror. So I was searching and came across this video. That’s a lovely technique for making a bezel. It would also look really nice if you used seed beads with the 28 gauge wire for extra embellishments.
