For the last 12 years, everytime I come back to this track, I immediately want to play this game again. I can't believe that it's been this long. Some of you guys hadn't even been born when I preordered this game, and that's just nuts to me. I mean it was only yesterday. I still have my gold nunchuk and the CD soundtrack, and my wii copy of skyward sword ofcourse. I hope that I can always have these experiences with Zelda games for as long as I live. 1995 till forever baby

Same, this one track keeps visiting my head from time to time, just like how this game is now 12 years old, it perfectly encapsulates how time flows, like the sand so present in the area. Things will never be like they were back then, but then again, i suppose we should look towards the future rather than miss the past huh. (Having a great time with Tears of The Kingdom right now, considering everything)

+Cool guy 49 I dont hate the game but I will say its one of my least favorite of the 3D Zeldas. felt too linear for a Zelda title, It sacrificed open world exploration for gimmicky motion controllers that barely worked for me half the time. the story wasn't that bad, I'll give it that.

This theme fits the area and plot so perfectly. Traveling a now abandoned sea which was once home to gangs of pirates, vast waters, and schools of fish. And now, it is a old desert of the past, living in the past as it it used once more, before being put back to an eternal rest.

Picture this: Cruising on the vast sea of nothingness. You lean over the side of the vessel and gently place your hand in the rippling water. You feel the coolness of crystal clear water..but something is different - you realize you can feel your hand brushing sand. Feel it stroking your fingertips as the vessel continues its monotonous pace. Yet how can this be? It's warm. But the water is cool also. You open your hand out wider and feel the past and present flowing through your open hand. Realization hits you. It's the memory of the water you're feeling. The memory of what once was, and never will be again. Your hand is dry yet feels wet. You lift your hand out of the water and feel the fluid dripping. Feeling. But not seeing. The fabric of time has been blurred to your whim as you journey to retrieve your means to defeat the looming threat and save your friend. Your beloved. Your people. Your world.....

I imagine this to be the moment when link, now an old and broken man, looks back to what he accomplished back in his youth (kinda). He thinks back to his adventures, finding Fi, battling Girahim/Demise and saving Zelda, who became a princess, but then gave the title to her daughter. Realising that there is nothing ahead of him except death, he passes his duty of saving the world from evil to his young boy dressed in green, mysteriously named after him. The boy then finds himself in the events of Minish Cap and the cycle of a boy in green fighting evil continues forever.

Nintendo should make a game where the player can play as an old, white-haired, white bearded Link similar to that of old Snake in the MGS series (that could potentially turn out as the worse thing to happen to a franchise since Metroid: Other M on second thought lol). Maybe he shouldn't be initially old though. Maybe one game transpires through Link's entire life. Maybe he could travel through time similar to in OoT, but to an aged Link instead of just turned adult Link. Then, he could travel back to child/teen hood when need be. I dunno, it just sounds like something fun and fresh for the franchise (although I absolutely adore it as it is).
@chameleonshovel4163

Brendan Matthews Technically this happened in Twilight Princess [SPOILERS] It's theorized that the golden wolf is the link from Ocarina of time/Majora's mask, considering that anyone who gets lost in the woods turns into a stalfos, and it also explains why he is so skilled with a sword.

yup! i just beat totk and went onto skyward sword HD and honestly the only thing botw and totk have going for them in terms of charm is the art style and thats it, every thing else is just banal and repetitive, especially the music. sure the mechanics are advanced and more nuanced in the newer games but so fucking what? skyward sword's puzzles and obstacles were way more fun anc creative, the character interactions felt way more meaningful, and the music was gorgeous.. something i cant say about recent zelda

I think it's like a pendulum. With Skyward Sword they went to the maximum end of the linear formula, and now the pendulum swung all the way to the extreme non-linearity with BOTW. Now they're dialing it back a tiny bit with TOTK as there are many more quests and sidequests that depend of eachother and the temples each have a distinct aesthetic. I think they need to really go hard with temple design in their next game, bring back some kind of inventory of key items instead of the iPad- uh- Sheikah Slate with the runes we get at the start of the game. Maybe temples could be designed modularly. Perhaps alternate paths depending on what items you unlocked, or maybe there's some kind of time progression as you go. For example, you could go to a freezing Zora's Domain first and get a hookshot... But doing so gives enough time for Death Mountain to erupt, thus of the traversal is now hookshot dependent because the floor is lava. If you go to Death Mountain first, then Zora's Domain freezes over. Fortunately, you got the Megaton Hammer from Death Mountain and you can shatter alot of the ice with it. And so on for the other temples.

I know people don't like Skyward Sword, but the great thing about every new Zelda game is that it always tries to distinguish it from it's predecessor which makes you appreciate the latter more in retrospect. BOTW had a huge world with plenty of NPCs which is great but sometimes I miss the simplicity of Skyward Sword's world and places like the Sand Sea.

People are saying this game sucks cuz of the Wii motion controls, when that all depends on your personal experience with the controls, so you can’t go saying it was a bad game based off that reason alone. I’m a hardcore Zelda fan so I like any Zelda game regardless of its issues, well almost all of them, curse those wretched CDI games. But anyway, since I was willing to give the game a chance, I eventually got really good at the motion controls. Also, this was supposed to be a more story-driven game cuz it’s purpose was to explain the events before oot and minish cap.

Tbh as someone who has played botw and loved it but can't believing he is saying this. Yes and not just this game. All of the classic adventure driven Zelda's especially when it comes to storyline and dungeon items. Skyward Sword, Twilight Princess, Wind Waker, Ocarina of Time, Majoras Mask, Phantom Hourglass, Spirit Tracks. All these games had unique tribes to them and exploration. BOTW wasn't trying to tell much of a story but that's just it. I wanted it to tell a story lol. It was more you pick up the missing pieces of your past along the way then an actual well fleshed out story with a dialogue driven final villain.

I've only played skyward sword and twilight princess and I think twilight princesses is the better game but skyward sword music kicks ass

Ik this vid was posted a while ago, but I gotta say this is one of my favorite themes in the Zelda series, it is also very relaxing to me, I even sometimes listen to this when I go to bed, and lemme say it really does put me right to sleep. Oh btw, lemme also say that I think its really a petty complaint to say that the wii motion sucks, cuz I have played through this game tons of times and have had little to no problems with the wii motion controls, except for the very few occasions where my game decides it doesn’t want to work. But that alone wasn’t enough to ruin the experience of this game for me. And sure, I may have not been too great at the game when I started, but the reason I love this game is because I gave it a chance instead of bitchin about how the controls suck

When im alone, there are times i wish this song could follow me around all day... like a theme song, except not really. Because then i would get sued for copyright, or slowly die of depression, and its not everyday i get to wear a poncho and wander in the desert with a perfect orange sunset in the backdrop and watch eagles soar by dust clouds in the distance... meh, nvm

Lucy: why do we have to be stuck in the freaking desert? I'm hot, I'm sweaty, I go sand in my shoes. Erza: quit complaining! At least you're not wearing any armor! My skin is beginning to chafe! Juvia: you know if you want I can cool you all down with my water magic. Me: that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Juvia. Juvia: it's my pleasure my darling Toad.

As much as I disliked this game as a whole, the Lanayru Sand Sea was an incredible place. Such a vast, limitless expanse, like a desert colossus. Favorite part of the game, and I genuinely enjoyed it. I just wish that there wasn't that pointless mine cart section that reused a boss and literally gave you nothing for it...
