I tied down my Friends Lance 2016 Trailer and we sat out Hurricane Harvey in Houston. We put it about 5 miles inland on a Floating Platform. The Trailer did not Leak Squeak or Blow apart it held in 125mph WINDS VERY WELL. Say what ya want a Harvey Lance is Good and safe. We all have our own Opinion. I know this is a old post and no one will read it much but Harvey couldn't Blow the Lance Down.

If the "tiny house" were built like this, it could be hauled by something reasonable. As it is, it seems possible to live in one of these. The engineering and precision are impressive. Another thing I noticed is that the workers were not trying to hurry as fast as possible (I saw the Jayco video). Giving them time to do a good job decreases the chance for mistakes.

Very nice trailers but in the 50k mark for say the 2185 wowzers! That's a lot of dough. Also what's the floor made of? pressboard, plywood. Hopefully some other non rotting material? It's nice to see a manufacturer take care when making a trailer. Most imo are built junk.

May be a great product but I am looking for something in the 34 foot range with three slides and I do not see anything near that size in a travel trailer. Any suggestions? I would love to hear Lance's view on who their closest competitors are and how they would rank them. LIke someone else commented, all mfgs think theirs is the best.

But will settle for the one slide.

i bought a new lance truck camper in october 2018. 2 months later it rained and my lance sprung a leak in the bathroom vent. i immediately drove it to the dealer (one hour away) and by the time i got there a leak over the bedroom vent and a leak in the kitchen table vent. they fixed all three leaks. two months later the rain began and the leak in the bathroom repeated and water began dripping down the wall. what i didn't know then but i know now? for every hour spent fixing my lance, the dealer billed headquarters lance b/c it was still under warranty. not only did lance sell me a lousy truck camper, my dealer was happy to fix it at no charge (b/c he was making money fixing it). i drove to the dealer, dropped that piece of junk on his yard and said 'gimme all my money back'. i got a check for a full amount in two weeks. why? the dealer knew i was furious and i was not going to take no for an answer. by the way...i have read plenty of rv reviews and i think 99 percent of them are no quality. never again.

It’s because in the USA we provide a bunch of cheap junk so the prices don’t help the good quality stuff like airstream and Lance. To me the proof is in the resale, this products is an investment, in your life and quality family time. They are made by humans so things go wrong, even if it’s a Mercedes Benz, things go bad. Worth every penny, second Lance product here.

There are a couple things that impress me about this. First, the top guys are hardcore. These fellows talk like aerospace engineers. Like they work for Lockheed. Very serious about what they do. Jack Cole seems to be a focused kind of guy. He sets the tone. Can you imagine how good of a president Trump would be if he channeled Jack Cole? He'd be scary good! The second thing is the workers. What you see are actually adults working on the line. No kids in tats and ponytails. No tweakers. Go look at the Jayco video on their factory floor. I know they're supposed to be Amish or something but you get the impression they smoke weed at lunch time. I don't want stoners building my travel trailer. Plus, Jaycos are junk. So yeah, I'll give Lance a serious look. I was looking at Rockwood but I'm changing my mind...

@@Berrypancakes229 I learned something interesting a few days ago. I believe it was Jayco, and pretty much all other RV manufacturers, have a clause in the warranty that says if the buyer resides in the coach for more than 30 days per year, the warranty is void. Probably 90% of RV's are not designed for fulltime living... They're engineered to be used only three or four weeks out of the year... The exceptions appear to be Lance. Arctic Fox, Bigfoot, etc...

This is old, they claim these are four seasons, and that the water holding tanks won't freeze at -15°, however mine froze at minus eight causing me to have to search for gallons of water. I'm just glad they weren't full at all otherwise they may have cracked. Also, there is no Azdel in the roof, only the walls, all of the plastics got brittle and broke in the fan and other ceiling vents. The window treatments were hard to clean behind and collected mold. The appliances were cheaply made and often the stove wouldn't ignite making matches essential. The plastic fake metal on the back and side of the stove warped from the oven heat along with the laminate on the surfaces that separated and burned around the back vent of the oven. If I had it to do again I just wouldn't. I could go on and on. And that goes for every RV because they are all overpriced nightmares.

I had to wait until I could stop laughing before writing this comment. Quality Control... what a bunch of bs. I've had my truck camper 3 years now and I have yet to have a full season of use where everything worked. Right from the start, the furnace didn't work properly. I had to take it to the dealer for repair 3 times. The first two times, they guaranteed me that it was working properly. It didn't. They finally got it fixed the 3rd time, but they wouldn't tell me what they did to fix it. The water heater tank leaked on my second trip. It was leaking at a poorly welded pipe nipple. It took six months to get a new water heater unit from Dometic. The following year, the the new tank started leaking at the exact same place. I finally realized that the way Lance installed the tubing fittings to the tank nipple was creating a vibration at the welded nipple, and the weld was not strong enough to hold against that vibration (it was aluminum). What was the most aggravating part of this whole ordeal was the total lack of concern that Lance had. They would not return my phone calls or emails. They will not let you talk to anyone in their technical department to get answers on how things are supposed to work. Now, in my 3rd year, I have a leak in one of the roof vents. Of course since the camper only has a one year warranty, I will have to pay to get that fixed. They can brag about all the machined tools they use, but in the end it comes down to the people assembling and installing all the components, and just like anywhere else, it comes down to how good of a job they do. I'm afraid to take it on a long trip because I have zero confidence that everything will work properly. Also, they do not take responsibility for any failures of the appliances. You or the dealer have to work directly with the appliance manufacturer. Dometic is just as bad if not worse than Lance as far as finding someone who knows something to talk to. The bottom line is that both Lance and Dometic only care about selling their products. After the sale, they will not provide any assistance at all.

Silver Phoenix #Legends: RV Industry is a very competitive Industry...they (The Products)cost nothing to produce....the Retail/Set price from an Independent-Authorized Dealer.....it's a make believe number....and consumers being so dumb more times than not will pay near/full "suggested retail price". If more consumers were more savvy with their cash and credit and demanded lower "suggested retail prices"...it would happen.....but most consumers are dumb...willing to pay whatever is being asked. And in most cases in the RV Industry,Dealer always makes more money than the manufacturer selling the Product at rock-bottom Wholesale competitive prices.....because in the end, the Dealer will go to another manufacture(s) looking for a better deal.
