Contemporary West Australian artist Lance Chadd who works under his traditional Aboriginal name Tjyllyungoo, was commissioned by Edith Cowan University to produce a painting as part of ECU's celebration of NAIDOC 2015.
Perth filmmakers Patrizia Tonello and Graham Taylor (Abandoned Suitcase) captures the artist at work on his painting which features the native black cockatoo whose traditional Nyoongar name 'Ngoolark' is shared by the new building situated on ECU's Joondalup campus in which the painting will be housed.
The film briefly touches on the artist's diverse and spiritually-rich oeuvre of work and his deep connection with the land through the lens of his Aboriginal heritage.
