When I use bead chain eyes I file the rough edges on a pile of them to avoid cutting my thread when tying them in. Thanks Lance for explaining your reasoning as you tied these.

Fun tip, soak the hook in kool aid then use a dubbing loop to incorporate some dip bait to target the big bois
