He plays in a tough district and those kids are bigger than you think, he's just that big, he's bigger than his brother was at the same age

Hell...I had to rewind hearing 6'5" alone to make sure I heard it right.

1. Lance Jackson is a legitimate 5 Star Recruit for the Texas Longhorns, regardless of what recruiting services say. 2. As dominant a recruit as Lance Jackson is, what gives him such an advantage over great recruits that have developed into difference makers at Texas like Ethan Burke and somewhat like Colton Vasek is that Jackson is physically ready to play college football right now. 3. Going into his fourth season at Texas, Ethan Burke still does not look like a physically dominant Strongside Defensive End, which is where he will be playing next season. Burke needed to redshirt as a True Freshman to gain muscle and physically develop. Unfortunately, he was forced to play as a True Freshman. He gained valuable on field experience, but his body was not developed, and it is still not. 4. Texas has recruited and developed those recruits well enough that Lance Jackson will not need to play as a True Freshman like Ethan Burke was. However, at 6'6, 270, Jackson looks like a physically dominant Strongside Defensive End for Texas and he has not played a down yet. 5. By the end of the 2026 season, I think Lance Jackson and Colton Vasek rotating at Strongside Defensive End and Colin Simmons and perhaps Smith Orogbo rotating at Weakside Defensive End will be the best rotation of Defensive Ends in the nation. 6. What will make the Texas defense so dominant is that Texas should have an equally dominant Defensive Tackle and Nose Tackle rotation by the end of 2026 with Alex January, Josiah Sharma, Myron Charles, and Justus Terry. Likely a composite 5-star but ESPN’s ranking was so far different than the other 3 services it through him as a high 4-star.

Arkansas was in it cause his older brother plays for them. He began in the rankings around 150 and shot up

They play 2 different positions. One puts their hand on the ground, and the other doesn't. You're comparing apples to oranges.

@@WayneOldham210let me guess. You'll say Colin plays edge right? That's not a position. People didn't even use that word twenty years ago. Unless youre telling me edge is a new position that was created recently.

@@WayneOldham210they both are defensive ends. One is more of a strong side, the other weak side.
