The Lancelot is the original, still made in America and has been on the market for over 27 years. The main difference between the two is the steel used to make the chainsaw blade, Lancelot blade is made by Oregon Chain, very high quality and long lasting. The other comes from China and is softer steel. I hope you like to sharpen because the chain dulls very fast, but the most disturbing is the chain is loose on the disc whereas the Lancelot chain fits very snug between the two discs. The knock off I ordered to see the difference came with two bottom disc, both the top and bottom disc that hold the chin in place said bottom, no quality control.

I use a Lancelot blade for carving the tops of the guitars I make. It makes fast work of a job that would take so long to do by hand that if it wasn't for this tool, I wouldn't even make carved top guitars.
