My wife's Chinese, I'm Italian, and, man, it was a journey since the very first day (初日で「結婚前提で付き合うつもりだよね」!欧米人にとっては普通にそんなのあり得ないのに)... A lot of trial and error and "maybe this is all a misunderstanding, due to cultural differences we have, let's talk about it". Oh btw, at first, "let's talk about it" was kind of a no-no for her... for cultural reasons. But we're fine now: we just passed our 11th-year anniversary!
Actually I’m dating with a German guy and we speak in 80% Japanese and 20% English Sometimes it’s a bit hard to understand what he suggests but it’s more interesting and fun to share different perspectives and cultures:) I totally understand what Ari mentioned 😅
i often get cofused, wondering whether this is a cultural difference or personal values difference( i'd say). for me, the former is okay but the latter implies we're incompatible (it depends on the extent tho)
