We were driving along the beach near Sealine on the Arabian Gulf. It was low tide and we had no problem on the firm sand near the water.
Usually we have to vehicles, but were on our own this time.
We saw a sand spit stretching out into the gulf and decided that it would be a good place to take a break.
As we turned around to go back, we travelled further up the beach onto soft sand.
As we had slowed down and had the steering on almost full lock, we lost momentum and bogged.
We immediately came off the gas so that we would not bury it completely.
When we have two vehicle, we usually hook the winch up to the other vehicle and pull out whichever one is stuck.
On occasions such as this, or when we get both vehicles stuck, we carry a folding ground/sand anchor.
It takes a few minutes, but it has got us out of trouble a few times.
