How far out were you casting at the surf? I can’t seem to catch anything but baby dart on the open beaches.

@tinkertable1977 was casting as far as I could but the fish were holding within 10 metres of shore dump keep trying with the flathead it's just by chance I found them. once u find them keep fishing the same area try different baits lures and fish at different tide times I love fishing the beaches

What conditions is best for beach fishing with soft plastics? low tide and low swell?

@DCUOCover I have found tide is best when it is higher rather than lower for flathead when the swell is rough I don't get any but other species you get in rough swell I prefer no wind no swell

Queensland beaches are beautiful but I hate to say they are barren.
