Land Cruiser Cabin Air Filter Retrofit

The 100 series Land Cruiser and LX470 share lots of parts. One they don't always share is cabin air filters. Most LCs have the filter box, but never got the actual filters. Here I show how to retrofit the filters.

Thanks!! I installed your recommended filter pair. Vacuumed 2" of pine needles from the filter location, removed the fan and the plastic by the windshield and cleaned all air passages. All that plus a small repair and my air system is quiet now.

Thanks for the video, checked out my 2005 LC and have the slot but no filter inside. Will be an easy fix now.

I confirmed by 2000 LC has the door. I pulled out the filters to see how bad they were--very bad. It was so bad in that compartment that I couldn't get them back in. I had to pull off the front of the compartment just to scoop out all the detritus. Ick!

Nice video, Thanks! I easily found it on my 2002 LX470. On my 2005 TLC, not so lucky as it didn't have the room to install it. Do you have any link to buy the retrofit for it? Thanks!

I got the panel, I got same filters and they are too long, they do not fit at all. Anyone got any idea?

My Land Cruiser 2002 100series (Australia) has all this behind the glove box, except it does NOT have the door to where the filter should be like yours. It has all the hinges for a door, but it has the original plastic covering (before the hole was punched out to accept the filter). Any idea where it could be?

I think some models just left the door out, so you may have never had it. You should be able to order it from the dealer. I'm not sure if the rhd version is the same as lhd, though.

@@patburley4719 My friend that works at Toyota said my model never came with a cabin filter, hence why there's no door there.

My 2001 VXR does not have cabin air filter, Injust opens to check...will have to check from the dealer to make sure.

no it doesn't I have a 2006 Land Cruiser, and it was not build with that part from factory, however you can find the cabin and filter aftermarket

Although it looks the same except, there's no door access for the cabin air filter slot on my 2005 LC.
