Bad at this game?!?! Here's a list of things I see streamers do in blind DS playthroughs: 1. spend 2 hrs dying in the graveyard near the shrine at the beginning 2. spend the first hr or so hitting everything with a broken sword cause they don't know how to equip gear 3. forget that defense exists 4. doesn't know how to heal and complains about the difficulty 5. ignore half the items picked up 6. doesn't read the tips You weren't nailing the parry but at least you tried and didn't completely forget about it like a lot of people. You get the point so I'll stop there. You're doing perfectly fine and much better than a lot of first timers.

In asmongolds playthrough he ignored every message in the tutorial, got stuck fighting the asylum demon for several tries cause he didn’t know there was a door to escape through, never used his shield or dodged enemies, and seemed to just not see any important path or thing, like the undead burg bonfire. It was a difficult watch lol
@thewingedone1172 Жыл бұрын
@@ciaranpatrick6859the most beatiful thing is that he still beat the game. It doesn't matter how bad you are at these games. Don't give up and they will deliver. Asmon went ultra depression multiple times through his first 10 hours and nowadays he says, quote "Dark Souls 1 from beginning to Gwynevre is the best experience gaming has to offer"

@@ciaranpatrick6859 I made the mistake of watching Emiru's playthrough before Asmon's. It was so hard to watch after seeing her pretty awesome playthrough. I especially liked how she explored the areas before she started trying to kill enemies, which is not how most people approach these games, but she made it work. I got frustrated watching Asmon after that and quit watching pretty quickly. 😆

This is a tip to all beginners of Dark Souls 1: DO NOT EVER feel bad about looking stuff up about this game if you are ever stuck for a long time or want to know how to access content that you want to experience like the DLC. Honestly, I don't know how anyone *intuitively* figures out how to access the DLC and a few other hidden areas. Advice is a necessity if you want to experience everything and complete every NPC quest. The creator had the concept in mind that people would share what they learn online and come together as a community to reveal all of its secrets. In that regard, Miyazaki succeeded. He wanted to simulate the aesthetic of adventurers gathered around a bonfire swapping stories about their respective quests and having everyone learn more about the world that way. So the game was designed with the assumption that players would be on forums and such looking for answers. So seriously, Google as much stuff as you want and never feel bad about it. No matter what anyone says to the contrary. OK. I rambled enough. Have fun. And careful out there. We don't wanna see you go hollow...

My first play through I struggled through, dying and searching ever book and cranny, missing things I should’ve seen and getting angry trying to power through difficult areas. Then I found @GheyForGames and I realized what DS is all about. From offers a guide book for a reason! I hate how people expect every new player to just git gud when they constantly put them down for getting unstuck. I’d rather look something up and have fun than get frustrated and quit through anger. Don’t you dare go hollow.

This is so true! A friend of mine made his first playthrough a while ago and my bf decided to act as his “personal wiki” for those things the game doesn’t tell you about. And it was very fascinating to witness, it really had a special feel to it! It also makes it such a nice choice to play with a community bc the comment section can act as that cozy campfire!

Two big differences to remember between Dark Souls and Bloodborne: 1. Equip Load. weapons and armour have weight unlike bloodborne. If your loadout is too heavy you'll roll slower and stamina will regenerate slower. This happened at 37:34 when you equipped the shortsword. Upgrade your endurance to improve your equip load rating, and you can carry more/heavier stuff without fat rolling. 2. The shield. There was 1 shield in bloodborne that I remember and it was pretty useless. The shields in Dark Souls are very effective. You can just hold L1 to block most attacks head on and if you have enough stamina then you won't take damage.

@Offisianシ And I like Dark Souls 2 but I also see the problems it has. I don't know what you mean with your shield/roll thing. In DS2 you can also play like a pussy hiding behind shields. It works for most of all 3 Dark Souls Games. This is why I prefer Bloodborne. You just have to play more aggressive. And the weapons are cooler in my opinion.
@zantos48533 жыл бұрын
@Offisianシ For example the lock on system isn't really good and the parry system is weird. That enemies stop spawning after you killed them a few times makes it very annoying if you want to farm a specific weapon. But the game is still great. The enemies, most bosses and the lore are cool. I don't get why you either have to hate or love it.

3 important Gameplay tips (no spoilers, but if you want to find out yourself, don't read any further): If you circle behind an enemy, while coming realy close, you can almost ALWAYS do an critical attack for high dmg, not only, when he (like you said) didn't notice you. That's called a "backstab". How to parry: just like in Bloodborne. Hit the enemy's attack, right when his weapon comes in a downward motion towards you, or is just about to hit you. You were almost always to early. Humanity: use one in inventory, and watch the circle besides your health and stamina bar, showing "00" right now. After taking a humanity, it gets up to "01", indicating you have 1 humanity "stored". You can now reverse the hollowing on bonfires, and after taking another humanity, you can "kindle" the bonfire, and get more sips out of your estus flask.

Happy to see you play Dark Souls after Bloodborne! You did great in that series. I'm sorry to hear that some think DS2 is rough around the edge and not worth playing, it was actually the best Soulsborne game, in my humble opinion. DS1, 3, and Bloodborne were great, especially the gameplay mechanic and the world design, obviously all made under the direction of legendary Miyazaki San. But DS2 went above and beyond with a philosophical approach for its story that left me thinking a lot upon completion of the game. I'd at least give it a few hours instead of skipping it.
@Obversechaos3 жыл бұрын
There are a lot of weapons and each has differing attacks. The kick is useful for breaking enemy's guard. The R2, besides being your heavy attack, is useful when R1 is ineffective, like the shortsword's thrust when the R1 swing is hitting the wall. You also have different attacks when dodging and running. I recommend trying every weapon you get out and seeing what vibes with you. You aren't bad at the game. Have confidence in yourself (but not too much or you'll get killed).

Cam: *destroys boss first time* Also Cam: "I'm so bad at this game." Me: ... So hyped for Dark Souls! Glad to see you're enjoying it so far. It's a bit jank sometimes, but overall has a special charm. The DLC is awesome too. I played it after Sekiro and Bloodborne and was used to a faster aggressive style, so I two-handed my katana pretty much the whole time and rolled a lot (no shield or parrying). Just FYI that that style is doable and quite enjoyable IMO - I found using a shield boring and heavy armor clunky personally, but many people prefer that style. Humanity and Kindling are kinda confusing IMO, and the game doesn't explain them well. You've probably already read up on them, but in case you haven't this is how I think of it: - Humanity items: You can use these items to increase your "held" humanity count, as well as recover HP. I'd recommend generally not using them for their HP purposes since they're not super easy to come by a lot. - Held humanity: The number in the top left. When you die your held humanity will be dropped with your souls. You'll gain held humanity by defeating enemies or consuming humanity items. - Being human: You can become human by reversing Hollowing at a bonfire by spending one held humanity. When human your character looks normal and the number in the top left is white instead of grey. When you die you'll go back to being Hollow. - Kindling: Each bonfire has a "strength" which dictates how many Estus it will recharge (increments of 5), with most starting at 5. Kindling a bonfire increases its strength (up to a limit). You need to be human and have a held humanity to spend in order to kindle. For reference, I had enough humanity in my playthrough to fully kindle (up to the limit at the time) every bonfire I came across, but I only used humanity for that purpose. Side note: I'd recommend forming your own opinion on DS2 at some point. I still really enjoyed it overall (especially its DLCs), even if it is weaker than other FromSoft games.

Game: Dash = Left Stick + (hold) Circle *presses circle* "Is this dash?" Me: You're doing great!
@spacedoohicky3 жыл бұрын
There's no dashing in this game. It's all rolling. That may, or may not be sad for you. You aren't doing bad. You beat the Asylum Demon on your first try. Your Bloodborne experience probably helped. You're actually doing fairly good so far. You don't lose health from a successful parry. You have to pull the trigger right when the enemy is in the forward movement with their weapon. It's somewhat similar to Bloodborne parries. At bonfires. You use "humanity" to reverse hollowing which makes you look human again. You also use humanity to kindle a bonfire that makes that bonfire give you higher estus on resting. *Kindle bonfires as much as you can.* On stats. Attunement is how many spells you can get if you are doing a mage build. You pick a dexterity starting build which works better with small fast weapons. If you wish to use heavy weapons you can upgrade the strength stat. For a first playthrough I suggest mostly just upgrading dexterity, or strength to start with. Endurance, and vitality are just like Bloodborne pretty much so you will know what to do with those. So besides those four stats ignore all the other stats for now. Just focus on vitality, endurance, and dexterity, or strength. Dark Souls also has weapon scaling so that will tell you what you need to upgrade too. Combat tip. Because you don't get HP back from attacking just attacking repeatedly will get you in trouble. Instead you have to watch for when an enemy is vulnerable. They are usually most vulnerable after they complete their attack. You'll see them slow down, and lurch. That's when you can attack safely. Or just learn parries. :) Circling around behind like you were doing also works. A very effective method is right when an enemy attacks press circle once (without moving the joystick), you'll hop away which will make the enemy miss you, then you can counter attack while that enemy is lurching. Sorry. That's a lot of tips.

But if you are giving 2 a chance, it gets epic after reaching the castle, which really takes a while, but if u start, u should know that and you will miss out on a lot if you don't continue, like when u first thought bloodborne wouldnt be for u, ds2 has something like that, it's depressing and meh up until like 65% of the game, but that kinda gives it a special aura when u look back at it, cause the last parts really make it.

Heya Cambo, few fast tips: 1) Humanity returns you to your beauty self, makes you human. In this state you can empower Fires for more estus usage and you can also Summon npcs (and opther players if you play online. Strongly recommended to use it, if you want to follow some npc Queslines, as you need to summon some. 2) Dont forget to exhaust like in bloodborne the dialogs with npcs, they end up sometimes giving tips or items! 3) Parrying is hard here xD 4) The Atributes here like Dexerity and Strenght influence greatly on the weapons/gameplay you want to chose. One handed sword favor Dexerity in general and big weapons Strenght for example, but there are exceptions. A big difference with bloodborne here are also Armors: More defensive armor tend to weight more, so your endurance allows you to carry heavier armors. 5) Have fun, prepare to die! xD 6) Circling enemies is a great strategy, well done We will give more tips free from spoilers as you go!

Dark Souls 2 is mechanically worse than 1, but it is more unique than 3, which rests a lot on fanservice, bringing back characters, areas etc in terms of it's creativity. So it depends what you are looking for from the games. Probably worth trying 2 (if you want to play either by the time you're done with 1!) to see if you can learn the differences in the gameplay and how it controls. It brings things to the series that neither of the other games does.

The dex build really isn't for first runs, hopefully it turns out okay but many weps are str-based.

I think it’s more of a personal preference depending on what playstyle you prefer. I did a dex build my first run and I found it to be a lot easier and more fun than strength builds, even though it takes a lot more hits and rolling around to kill an enemy it just makes it more fun to me because I love running around and dodging. I tried heavy and strong characters as well but they are just so slow and bulky

DS2 is the hardest one, and unpopular opinion it's better than 3

I agree. Though I enjoyed DS1 in it’s connected world, DS2 had better “levels”. Plus DS2 was my first souls game and I love it to death

It was a smart choice to play this game first. Too many people skip this game and play the newer games first. I think that's mistake.

DS3 is as fast as Bloodborne, but DS2 is the slowest game of all

Can you do a playthrough of Bloodborne or Dark Souls in danish? Doesnt have to be a full playthrough, I just like Danish.
@Cambonano2 жыл бұрын
It’s weird for me to speak Danish when recording. I don’t know why but it just doesn’t feel right 😂 So I probably won’t do that, sorry 🌼
@babbisp12 жыл бұрын
@@Cambonano Danish is your mother tongue though right? Instead of doing a livestream, you could try to do an offline recording, and try it until you get it right. When/if it works well, you can make it public. It doesn't even have to be 10 minutes or even 5 minutes. And you can play your favourite game. I'm just throwing suggestions out there, but it's obviously your choice. I understand why you'd think it feels off, but I love Danish so much! Regardless, I love your videos!

Thought I heard a bit of Danish in that accent, but very well hidden.

Cam ur starting dark souls and i'm still trying to catch up with the end of ur Bloodborne playthrough! 😱🤣😂 I really thought you'd start demon souls before dark souls though lol, since it's a PS5 exclusive launch title etc. But any game in the souls universe makes me happy to see you playthrough hahah! 🙌🙏
@Cambonano3 жыл бұрын
Haha I’ll try and slow down so you can catch up 😂😄 It seemed like people really wanted to see Dark Souls, and because of the comments I realized that it might be better to hold of with Demon Souls, until more people have had the chance to play it for themselves 😃

@@Cambonano oh fair enough, i never thought that most ppl still are struggling to buy a PS5, so maybe they havnt had a chance to play it yet (even though i played original demon souls on ps3 long ago)! Also looking forward to see you playthrough Sekiro Cam-- whether that be on stream or dedicated KZbin, i dont mind 😁😁 But don't slow down ur uploads jus for my benefit hahahha, ive just been super busy with work so il hav to catch up on bloodborne when i got some free time 😋

Hi just found your channel after starting my own re run of dark souls. I'm also a content creator living in Denmark. Are you originally Danish? I'm not picking up an accent 😂

Dark souls talks about ages but the universe it self doesn't believe in the concept of time.
