Land Rover Defender TD5 mirror fix

I fitted larger door mirrors a few years ago to give me a better rear view and they have been fine but as they are larger the hedges find them easier than before! Particularly the near side (Left hand side).
This video shows that rather than paying £46 for a new one, with a little time and patience there is a way to fix it.

Great repair to typical rubbish Britpart item. (Could you have completely removed the broken plastic part and had a metal on metal bearing? ... Packed with copper slip)
