Landrover seems to have a lsd front diff... Where as the discovery is constant real 4x4 / 4wd giving it the advantage. Kudos Landrover

I just traded my D1 Discovery 300 Tdi on a LandCruiser 200 series 4.5 twin turbo. The old Disco was more than capable off road. So I’m a little biased towards LR. However, this Disco seems to have an unfair advantage with slip diffs.

I do not understand the people who say that the J70 is one of the best off-roaders in the world, because if it is true that the Discovery had raised suspension, but the J70 also and they have not done any tests better than Discovery by far ...

They’re one of the best (the best) at taking you back home. They can handle a lot of tough conditions. Basically a work mule.

Obviamente el Discovery es mucho mejor todoterreno, en general es mejor diseñado, los he tenido ambos y el Toyota j70 uno lo vende con mucho menos nostalgia que el Discovery

Disco 2 with centre locking diff and tc is what you want.
@GRcorolla-bt3mn3 жыл бұрын
Title should be LSD vs open diffs. Otherwise both the cars have coilovers all around with same amount of wheel travel. Both have engines with nearly the same output. At the end of the day, the toyota is more reliable. Otherwise both are great rigs. Add LSDs or lunchbox lockers, it would perform the same way, if not better.

@pratyushbiswas75826 жыл бұрын
That's not fair man!the Land Rover has a diff lock at all three differentials and is able to climb but the Toyota has no diff locks,as you can see even with no diff locks ,managed to make 60% of it but still got stuck,if it had diff locks then it would have managed to ace the whole place,but I am not saying the Land Rover is bad ,in fact I loved it,so I like the Land Rover as it uses different technologies whereas the Toyota has undergone innovation to come as a light truck which can cover a trail even without diff locks

This is stupid the Toyota has street tires and land rover has mud tires and lift.
@ghettomist15757 жыл бұрын
Edgar Bravo Those are not street tires, dude are u alright lol. Those are either light mudders or all terrain tires. They both look really similar.
@davedevine26237 жыл бұрын
With insa turbo tyres they would both be doing alot better
@pratyushbiswas75826 жыл бұрын
Actually both the trucks are good in their own ways,but the Land Rover is only able to wade through with it's differential locks and the owner might have given it a lift which any good truck will be able to do but the land cruiser should be able to do with it's superb simple design with weight reduction so just press the gas pedal and work on the brakes properly while off-roading ,then I guess it would wade through because I have seen people even a Lada Niva wade through without any modifications ,but just give the land cruiser 70 with a diff lock in any SWB or LWB version,it would ace through the trail

I did exactly this today I was driving a 1998 Land Rover discovery 1 2.5 TDI with special terrain tires designed for trailers and my mate had a 2013 Toyota Land Cruiser with 35” muddies and he got stuck 3 times and I got stuck none
