I haven't used my park assist. Evertime, a maneuver is performed. Do I need to brake, or does the vehicle brake on its own? Thank you

You control the gas and the brake completely. The car only steers and tells you what gear to select

I’ve used it twice as per instructions and one of those times it curbed the wheel.

Wow I have never heard of that, however it is important to keep good track of the brakes and the gas because the driver still has to coordinate that manually.
