The comments, 'found it, lost it' had me snickering for a good 30s. The stream of anecdotes, humour and ocd was all spot on - because its so identifiable. The bracket thats so sharp it can cut you from a distance for example, was hilarious. I almost spat out my morning coffee as a result 😏

It Looks Great! Keep up the fantastic content. It is starting to go back together,. I bet you are very happy, I have been following this build for a long time. Land Rovers are one of my favorite kind of vehicals, but here in Canada they are prohibitablaly exepensive due to the shipping cost of items coming accross the pond, I am very interested in the INEOS Grenadier, which is like a ultra mondern version of the Landrover. If I have to spend all of that money to buy and restore a Land Rover I may just as well buy the Grenadier instead and not have to do all of the restoration work. But if I lived in great Britain where I could get the parts redily I would go for a Diesel Landrover. Again Please keep up the great content!

I love the humour you have brought to this restoration. Its pretty much essential. But can I gently correct you on the thread names? @ 10:49 on you refer to 'Whitworth' when the sizes noted on your packaging are actually 'BSF' (or British Standard Fine). In fact I suspect they were actually UNF. The threads are very different and post 1960s British cars were using Imperial UNF or UNC - British Standard Course - for aluminium. Land Rover of course insisted on using BS, SAE (UNF / UNC) and Metric as you found out! Sometimes people get a set of spanners marked 'BSW' and think the bolt is Whitworth becasue it fits but they will also have a 'BS' marking as the jaw size for both Whitworth and BS are identical. So for example a spanner could be marked: 1/4"BSW 5/16"BS or 5/16"BSW 3/8"BS This is because spanners and sockets for BS (UNF fine thread and UNC coarse thread) are determined by the bolt/nut head dimension and sometimes called 'AF', whereas for BSW (coarse thread) and BSF (fine thread) it is determined by the diameter of the bolt shank. All very confusing but you seem to be working your way through this bit of engineering anarchy and the finished results are looking rather good.
@CROKERvsRover2 жыл бұрын
The u bolts shown are BSF. BSW and BSF are both based on the whitworth thread form. I’m aware that head sizes of bolts are different between BSW and BSF for any given nominal size. Cheers

Loved the vid ! . I was always taught that Whitworth BSW was different from BSF and not interchangeable?
@CROKERvsRover2 жыл бұрын
They’re not. BSW is coarse and BSF is fine. Both are Whitworth threads.
@bigfilsing2 жыл бұрын
@@CROKERvsRover Too fast! At least let me finish the whole vid before ranting :-) ( What's the collective name for opinionated YT viewers?) I was just confused as at 9:54 you used BSF & Whitworth terminology interchangeably! They share the same 55deg thread form ( to save workshop re tooling) but are not the same. Never the less great you shared the experience and I'm sure it will save a few people from ordering the wrong parts!! Cheers
