LAND ROVER'S take over COOMA!!
Last Easter LAND ROVERS came from all over Australia and the world to parade through Cooma. SERIES LAND ROVERS, seriously tough, and serious about their off road ability too. Being an old Land Rover nut, I was really looking forward to going and it was worth every penny of an expensive trip down. Yep, can't help thinking if I'd been in a Land Rover I might not have got that ticket, esepcailly on a public holiday with double fines! But COOMA was magnificent, nothing but down to earth Land Rover people, talking old machines, laughing and playing with them and that was before we went out to the paddocks for the gymkhana and put the Land Rovers through their paces! It was a great weekend, Roothy at Cooma great ,work, Noah. Aaarh, those old 1A Landies I remember changing a head gasket on D.I. beach late arvo instead of trying to catch tailor!!. Not bad off road, but wouldn't pull granny off the dunny on the highway. Removing the gearbox, though, the floor axles made of licorice, arrrrh the memories. You going back there? !!!😢

I like the expedition look of the industrial Land Rovers, they've always had narrow tires. Suits them.. I run skinnies on my JK but it doesn't right, it looks downright unJeep! 😆

I have a 1947 CJ-2A I just got done restoring and love the older off road vehicles. I’m American of course but don’t mind a nice looking Land Rover. I’m hoping to get a PTO soon but those are hard to find.

I had a Thompson PTO on my WW2 Jeep - bloody heavy but it'd lift the little car up a tree with ease...
