Just keep chipping at it, bit at a time! You will make loads of progress without realising it ;)

Really enjoying your videos I am just in the process of starting my ground up restoration of a 1965 series II that had been sitting in a lock up in London for over twenty years.

Thanks MBKB. Your resto, projects sounds very good, an S2 in storage for 20 years is got to be pretty original and in good condition. All the best with it.

Question. When you took the tube off, was there any rubber tub mount pads positioned on the chasis?

Yes David, but you can just get some high density rubber and cut to size. I think the aim here was to avoid the metal to metal vibration and damage as a result.

I think you have made the right call, the 109 could be saved with alot of welding but I also think it would have to have some historical significance to have made it worth while. The 88 looks a gem, the seat covers you like are I believe elephant hide pattern, very difficult to find but try exmoor trim in the UK.

Yes, for me the 109 is too far gone, and I dont trust how far the rust is throughout the chassis and bulkhead was also bad near the vents. Yes a number of comments indicates the same place so thats a good start.

These were the last ‘PROPER’ Land Rovers oh and the defender. I dont rate that pretend Land Rover discovery or Range rover as being a useful off road vehicles, they are just for the sheilas to go shopping and dropping the kids off at school 😂😂 they drive on a verge they get bogged in 😕

I love all the rovers, well maybe freelanders not so much. Would have rrc in my collection, got a D1 300tdi which is basic (no computers) and serves my towing needs. Any Rover is better than their competitors ;)
