The full glass cockpit was actually one of the last major upgrades to the Shuttle in the very late 90s to early 00s. I think most commercial aircraft already had the technology finely tuned before the changes to the Shuttle which was rocking the CRT monitors since the beginning, brand new for the 70's but by the 90s it was clearly outdated.

In reality, the computer does all the work untill you are just about to land. The timing of re-entry is also crucial and very stressful. This is MUCH more simple than how it would actually happen

Video was recommended to me and I was excited to see him try and fly a shuttle approach. Was disappointed to see him use iffy BS "no failures even for planes" tactics to land and still overshoot the runway. lol The shuttle re-entry process is super cool and interesting and requires heaps and heaps of skill. I can't imagine the trial and error that went into learning how to properly bring a shuttle down. I'm sure anyone actually interested in how it's done has seen the Bret Copeland video that is suggested on the side. If not, I highly recommend watching it.

Actually the Space shuttle is flown at 40° AOA for re-entry, so that the heat can be taken by the heat-shield - without that, the entire Shuttle would burn up. If you're too high, you'd fly at high roll angles (even inverted if needed) … the fact that you can actually just descend it like an airliner with very small wings disqualifies this sim. Just try doing this in FlightGear (which is free) and you'll see what I mean …

This was nice, but your forgot a couple of things. The orbiter did have fuel. for the OMS engines and the ACS. You also forgot the turns the space shuttle uses to bleed off entry heating.
