if this is the same swa pilot he is the absloute best, have flown for 35 yrs and never had a smoother landing.. and that pilot deserves kudos...

Yes I believe this the same SWA pilot. I've flown for 19 years but this was the smoothest landing I've ever experienced. My very warm regards go to this absolute best pilot!

At around 4:10 some inboard wing panels (not the ailerons) are raised slightly. I understand they will be raised much more, as airbrakes, when the plane touches down, but why are they raised at all during flight ?

Simple answer would be they are used to "spoil" airflow over the wing, thus the name spoilers, and increase the speed of decent without increasing the air speed of the aircraft.
