This is quite possibly the best approach path to any airport in the world. Well, other than those ones that go through steep mountain gorges and such like. But definitely the best city approach. You could almost draw up a list of famous London landmarks to be flown right over at low altitude... the Tower, Check, Tower Bridge, Check, The Shard, Check, Canary Wharf, Check, the Dome / o2 Arena, Check... yeah.

The BAe146 types don't have reverse thrust on their engines. Just big thick brakes on the undercarriage and airbrakes on the wings and tail.

Get to France and jump in a dinghy,any boat their all headed for the British coastline. You will hit the jackpot, thousands do this daily. Full board,full residence,medical,free money,and social housing,for life. Don't bother with any identification. Oh,and any awkward questions,just accuse the perpetrators of racism. When I was younger this aircraft was called a BAE146,I don't get the name change, Dan Air used to use them on flights to Amsterdam in the 90s , we used to go to the "city of sin" for naughty weekends:-)

You must be joking, this is a small airport, the A380 is huge. Additionally, because of the airport's location, the approach has to be unusually steep, as does the takeoff so special training is required for pilots. You can Google which aircraft types are approved to use LCY.

Nouman Shabbir Avro J85s were manufactured without reverse thrust. I don't know the reason for this, but I do know that they use a MASSIVE rear spoiler, along with some wing spoilers and good brakes.

@Tyrene Powell - Building much needed housing will "dissipate London's economy"? Seriously? There was no need for London City Airport as Biggin Hill could have been expanded for a friction of the cost. However that airport is in a Tory voting semi-rural area so instead they built a brand new one with an approach path effecting hundreds of thousands of mainly working class Labour voters in the East of the city.
