Brilliant! When I was a child living in Fawdon a plane flying over was a big event and it also made the telly go nuts!

We are fortunate enough to live on the flight path too. Used to love watching them on approach to the airport.

I have made that flight many times so always tried to get a window seat on left, I used to live at Seaton Sluice and the joke was it took nearly as long to get home from Newcastle Airport than a the flight from Amsterdam or London. Oh for a parachute😄

It is the first time we have been able to enjoy the view. Usually it is dark when we fly home.

Announcements are not 6:35 'patronising' - they are necessary for passenger safety. That includes you when you are a passenger. I don't believe that you would be deaf to cabin crew instructions????
