Landing at Stockholm Vasteras Airport | Ryanair 737-800

A north-facing arrival into Stockholm Vasteras Airport on board a Ryanair 737-800 series aircraft. How they get away with calling this one Stockholm I’ll never know!!

Not only is it one of the smallest airports I've flown into but it's one of the furthest from the destination city - in this case Stockholm, an incredible 103KM (64 miles) away. Thankfully buses to Stockholm are cheap (if booked in advance) and the road is pretty much a straight motorway all the way into the centre of Stockholm, taking about 2 hours (although we did get stuck in some Friday night rush hour traffic, so I would say usually it would take around 90 minutes). Flight was about £8 though so can't complain.
Route - London Stansted Airport (STN) to Stockholm Vasteras (VST)
Aircraft - Boeing 737-800 (EI-EGC)

Stockholm Västerås airport is also called Hässlö. It is an old air fleet that Västerås municipality had to take over. It is an "extra" airport to the Stockholm region, which is why it has Stockholm in its name.

Ah that makes sense. I was quite surprised how far it was from Stockholm, I know Ryanair tend to use more localized airports but it took us 2 hours to get to the city (admittedly there was a lot of traffic!) Thanks for the information.
