Okay, before I start the comment. I’m a massive fan of OMB, and I enjoy his videos. And this was really good. But as a AvGeek, I have quite a few problems with this video. 1. 0:20 you notice the first officer on-board flaps full. For takeoff an aircraft like the A380 10-15 degrees of flaps, being flaps 1 or flaps 2. Full flaps is only used for landing. Being unrealistic. 2. 2:00 the flight attendant mentions IRFD-IPPH. IRFD is based off Rockford, a city near chicago, Illinois but most people and developers call it Chicago. IPPH, is based off Perth, Australia. Keep in mind, Emirates is a airline based in UAE with 95% of flights each day arriving or departing at/from Dubai (DXB). So I feel as if Tokyo (Orenji) would’ve been the closest option for Dubai. As they are both Asian countries. Making this not make sense 3. 3:45 In the corner of this clip, (wing cam) you notice a follow me truck. This is unrealistic for IRFD since as it is represented as Chicago, Chicago does not use Follow Me trucks, to my belief they are mainly a European thing but even then I believe it is for the more complicated airports. 4. 4:58 Hard to notice, but right as this clip begins you see the aircraft is slanted which means the aircraft isn’t properly centerlined, kind of unrealistic but it’s a pilot error even if Emirates is known for hiring very good pilots due to its massive aircraft sizes. 5. 5:01 Again, pilot error not really unrealistic, but this is kind of unrealistic about representing crosswind with the moving back and forth, either they can’t keep a line, or misrepresenting crosswinds. Crosswinds that effect the ground (very rare), just means you may takeoff a little bit to the left or right. Crosswinds that are light-med will only slant you, not rock you. 6. 5:16 Pilot error and unrealistic. The gear you can see goes up too early, above 500 feet is appropriate, and as someone who plays PTFS very much, I can tell that they were in the range of around 100-175 feet. Which is dangerous' and didn’t even get to the end of land. Incase of a stall or abort. 7. 5:22 At the start of the inside clip, that climb rate has to be about 250 fp/s, or 15000 fp/m which is very unsafe. It should be around 3 degrees up being like 50-100 fp/s or 3,000-6,000 fp/m also making that dangerous, and probably a slight airspeed loss that could eventually lead to a stall. 8. 5:24. That sudden straighten out isn’t too bad, so I’ll make this short but that is kind of unrealistic for air pressure, and G-force. 9. 6:09 Free Wi-fi is not on your class, but all passengers do get if they sign up for Emirates Skywards, so even with first class you need to have a skywards account which is very common for flyers in first class. 10. 6:23 It is very dangerous and I believe against FAA regulation to allow any passengers to walk during a time of turbulence. 11. 7:19 That is not turbulence, the A380-800 is a Super Class aircraft, it will not react that much to turbulence. It creates that level of turbulence called wake turbulence for smaller aircraft behind. And the NTSB should investigate the pilot for dangerous bank angle levels, and if you have a failure, that’s even worst. Those turns lose lots of altitude which isn’t good for failures, and could damage further instruments. 12. 9:15 I can’t fully make out what happend there, but it looks like they flared too much and stalled which isn’t realistic, you only want small flaring to safely land on a belly. 13. 9:26 The aircraft is turning, if a massive aircraft that is very heavy is on the ground, it wil have no ability to turn. And when it gets to the grass, such a heavy aircraft I believe will stop in the grass after a short time. That’s all from me, and I don’t mean this as hate but just some tips.
