I have a 2019 which is essentially the same car save for some slight body design and steering wheel changes. This is easily the best review on the E Class cabriolet on KZbin. It gives you relevant info and touches on (what I think at least) the more important review points like sound dampening with the cloth roof, can it go through a car wash and other more everyday driving concerns. I have a 2022 E450 convertible. My advice is to hand-wash only. I've taken my car to those car washes with the rubber scrubbers and twice my back window formed water pockets. They leak and they look pretty bad. I've had to get my top replaced twice. Luckily I still have a warranty.

Great question. The E-Class Coupé and Cabriolet are both strictly four seaters and this is due to the chassis modifications required when removing the roof and B-pillars. As a result, the cabin is narrower in the rear and the door sills are wider to allow for the strengthening sections to be added.

What's the score if you don't want to risk of keyless entry? Too many cars around me are being taken with the radio booster trick, I have stopped looking at this model as it is only specified with keyless entry, can it be deactivated??

Great question - Mercedes-Benz keys now deactivate themselves when they've been left flat for a period of time and wake up when they are picked up again. Double pressing the lock button on the key will deactivate keyless entry too. Lots of our customers also buy pouches for keys which block the signal transmission to or from the car.

@@LandLAutomotive Thanks for your reply, someone on Mercedes chat also mentioned that you can "cancel the subscription" to keyless entry using your mobile phone app (my merc app I guess) do you know anything about that?? I have a number of business contacts who have lost their range rovers and BMW's as they were simply driven away, I don't want to put myself at risk. With my current BMW I had it deleted at the build stage but 3 years on its time for a change. If you want to give me some contact details I would be happy for you guys to quote me as you clearly understand the E53 AMG better than some. Robert

The issue with these two door cabs is the width and weight of the doors. In parking bays where somebody parks beside you it’s difficult getting the door open wide enough to get in! Number of times I have had to climb over the passenger seat to get in are countless! Even the Merc Fabric roof fades and bird crap is difficult to remove, even with proprietary cleaners! I had a 2017 E Class convertible and the number of times I had the opportunity to drive with the roof down could he counted on two hands.

Don't have as a daily driver. Keep in garage and you don't have to clean top as much

Thank you! I'm about 6'3" - fitting in the rear isn't an issue for me with the two-door E-Class models, just need to remember to move your head forward when the roof is raised or lowered. Glad you enjoyed the video!

Fun to own but 1. Expensive 2. Small inside. Back seat for small people or hobbits. 3. Few storage areas 4. Wind noise above 60 mph with windows down or 70 mph with deadening devices employed is not nearly a comfortable at running under 50 mph. 6. Body flex and sounds are noticable. 7.. Worry about expensive repairs. 2014 US aE550a cabriolet.

What a magnificent engine you have under your hood! V8 E-Classes are exceptionally rare over here. The big difference in generations that I should've mentioned in the video is the cabin size; rear space in terms of width and legroom was greatly improved. Headroom in the rear is, of course, best with the roof down for taller passengers.

I have a 2 wd MB 2014 e550a cab and my wife an Audi 2013 a5 2.0T quattro cab. Hers is more sure footed and lighter in the twisties and gets a few better mph. The Merc is much quicker and quieter and less ride harshness. The Audi interior seems nicer as does the B&O sound system. Both are under 70k miles and have been reliable. Both cost similar 3 years old with CPO warranty.
